Sounds like its been awhile since you tried it. With broadcasts going to digital you either got the signal or you don't. Closest thing to fuzzy these days is the signal dropping in and out. But thats from location, antenna etc.
You're just crazy...not only is their normal the fastest but they also offer 101 MbPS which is the fastest in the entire country. So, standard is 20mbps boost is 30 mbps and ultra is 101 mbps...what does FIOS have?
I just switched to Fios after having Optimum for 8 years. Up until just recently (after numerous complaints and truck rolls, the latest service guy decided I could use one of the newer modems) I never approached the 15 mps they promised. During busy times (evenings) my speeds were absolutely pathetic. Fios offers three tiers, 15/25/35 put what's better about it is that the speed never varies. I signed up for 25 mps, and it clocks in at almost 30 consistently, so they've delivered faster speeds than promised. Fios is more reliable.
I just went to get one and the girl at radio shack said don't bother..they have had almost all of the ones they sold already returned. I am far enough south and west that there is pretty much no signal since they had to move the antenna back to the empire state. I still think it will be back by Sunday anyway.
Will be watching at a friend's house in Queens, but it does suck I can't enjoy it on my HDTV. This whole dispute has been one big mess.
Cablevision..Fox???? If you are a Jets fan, why is this even a question? The Dolans, and their hired thug Shelly Silver are the reason you don't have the game in the West Side Stadium. If you're a Jets fan, and you can switch to Direct TV, and still have Cablevision, you need to check your premises. http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/columns/turf/10875/
Is there any sites that posts the game after its over? I won't be home to watch and can't dvr since I'm a Cablevision customer.
Make sure you're putting it on the correct receptor. There is probably an Antenna A and an Antenna B on the back. 1 is for QAM (Cable) and the other is for OTA (ant) Some sets allow you to cofigure this in the menu and if that's the case make sure you set it to the one you connected the antenna to. After you have it on the correct one make sure you direct the antenna in the direction of the transmission. In NY it's the Empire State building. Then, do a channel search... After the search see if any channels come in. If they do, go to a part of the menu that allows you to see "Signal Strength" and adjust your antenna accordingly.
Well it turns out the antenna I bought was either broken or a POS. I hooked up rabbit ears (extended with @ 20 feet of CATV wire) and got a signal, but I gotta put the antenna out the front door  Im going to grab an amplified antenna at Radio Shack tomorrow and see if that does any better.
If you can do it, change from cablevision to either Verizon FIOS or DirectTV I did and I'm damn happy I did to.
NFL (and MLB) going after the streamers. Might make seeing the game on Sunday that much more difficult. http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/web/10/29/nfl.streaming/index.html?hpt=T2 "Log onto popular video streaming websites on a Sunday during football season and you can usually find several channels showing decent-quality live feeds of the games. This has kicked off a frenzied game of Whack-A-Mole for sports leagues bent on eliminating the pirated video feeds. These rogue video streams could ramp up considerably in the next week during the World Series -- especially since New York area customers of Cablevision Systems don't have a way to watch those games at home because of an ongoing quarrel between that company and News Corp's Fox. Fox alleged that Cablevision support representatives were referring customers to websites that were illegally broadcasting baseball games, according to a report in the New York Daily News. Cablevision has since offered its subscribersfree access to the legal MLB.com. A spokesman for Major League Baseball didn't return requests for comment. A number of websites within the internet's sort-of black market are dedicated to sports piracy. Not surprisingly, they aren't playing ball with the leagues. But the more visible video streaming services are providing pro sports and Hollywood producers with the weapons they need."
I posted this earlier but watch it live here for free and it's completely legit. Here it is- You get a 30 day free trial so, just signup, connect your computer to your LCD/TV and you're all set. http://www.ivi.tv/
That's good stuff. I get the games where I am, but 13 miles away where my old man lives, he doesn't. And we've never not watched a game together...ever. You saved the streak, thanks MadBacker.
Thank you good sir. I bought a Radio Shack $25 antenna and nothing. Was about to take it back and re-hooked it up and looked for a setup like you said. Sure enough, crystal clear digital signal. Fuck you Cablevision and FOX.
This seems to say it's not legit as the entire industry filed suit against them 15 days after they made their debut. http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/c...tart-ivi-tv/19689674/?a_dgi=aolshare_facebook
Yeah they've been around for a while now fighting off the networks and sports organizations. They're still going.
