I think the Yankees could find a way to make arrangements for Cliff Lee's wife to watch the games from the executive suites if they were really serious. Just spitballin' here.
Guaranteed that whatever those Yankee fans said to Lee's wife paled in comparison to what she's probably heard in Philly.
Oh well..done deal with Girardi. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/baseball/mlb/10/28/yankees.girardi/index.html?eref=sihp
There's no way Wood comes back now. He's going to be able to get closer money somewhere and it appears the Yankees don't want to pay a guy closer money when we still have Rivera. I think it's a bit short-sighted and I'd prefer to bring back Wood, but the team clearly doesn't agree. Hooray Joba-Robertson? I doubt that. That's his first bad appearence in the playoffs in his career. One bad outing in the World Series doesn't erase everything else he's done in his career. The Rangers are still going to offer him the same amount they planned on offering yesterday, and the Yankees will still do everything in their power to beat it.
Leo Mazzone is interested in becoming Yankee pitching coach. http://www.metsblog.com/2010/10/28/leo-mazzone-is-interested-in-mets-yankees/ First comment from that link: He's overrated, but I thought this was interesting.
Mazzone was great but he's too old now and I don't think I could ever watch Yankee games again if he continued to rock back and forth like he did in Atlanta for 10 years.
I read yesterday that Mazzone's reputation took a big hit in Baltimore and that he probably wouldn't be considered by the Yankees. I also read that the team wasn't impressed with Harkey's audition in Eiland's absense this year, which is good news to me. This is actually an interesting storyline to me. Probably the biggest one of this winter. Obviously Lee is the prime target in a free agent pool we're not really going to swim in, and Girardi's contract is already done. I'm curious to see, depending on who they bring in, whether they'll maintain the "Joba is a bullpen guy" stance.
I'd be very surprised if Nardy Contreras isn't named Yankees pitching coach. He's the only guy who has experience both as a major league pitching coach and working with every arm that came through our minor league system. It just makes too much sense.
fucker will take back his words when the Giants beat his team in Texas tonight... Fool thinks his team is greatness because of getting to the World Series beating the Yankees in the ALCS. I hope there is a follow-up letter tomorrow
Thoughts? Now the Series is over the Yanks are supposed to issue a counter statement about the Texas owner saying the Yankee fanbase are shitheads
Who cares what some dumb Texan thinks about the NYY fanbase? Everyone is well aware drunken retards fill stadiums all across the world.
Hahahahaha. that'd be awesome. someone with money needs to take an ad out in the dallas star with that.
Haha, Jeter wants a 6 year deal. He should just retire and save everybody the effort. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...-hbt-makes-sense-of-the-hot-stove-rumor-mill/
