I really wouldn't like to see that. Swisher has really become a good player for us. Sure, he struggled a bit this year, especially late, but he played far better in right and hit quite a few out. Not to mention his personality is clearly good for the club.

Have to remember that came from the Texas scouting report. We all know Cano was the team's MVP if not the league's.

Absolutely, I was just adding to the point made in the post I quoted. Granderson is talented, so is Teixeira, so are a lot of guys on the team. None of them is as good as Cano right now.

It was smart of Texas to not underestimate Granderson though. I give him hell, but he could have made a big difference if they had slept on him. They knew Cano would do whatever he was going to do. Concentrate on everyone else and don't let them beat you.

Yes, I'm quoting myself. Look what Cashman had to say about it yesterday:

Cashman also admitted that Nick Johnson was no higher than his No. 3 choice for the Yankees designated hitter this season. “He was a Plan C,” Cashman said. “Our plan was obviously Johnny Damon first, and then if Matsui was still on the board we would have went to him. But he was already off the board so we wound up with Nick. And that did not work out at all.”

I think whichever beat writer said that was wrong. Francesa said numerous times during the show that according to that scouting report, Granderson was 2nd best behind Cano.

Cliff Lee won't sign with the Yankees because the fans said mean things to his wife. Okay.

I think Hughes has proven he is no number 3. He did ok as a 5 during the season.

Hughes is 24 years old and coming off of his first full season as a major league starting pitcher.

He's got plenty of room for improvement.

Rofl. You'd agree to play in front of the same pricks who harrased your wife? Fuck that. I'd resign with Texas just to spite those assholes.

You'd throw away millions because of what some dumbass fans did?

Don't go into business, man. You would not fare well.

What's the tangible difference between a number three and a number five? Nothing. Just who's pitching in front of you or behind you. You don't face lesser competition. You don't get a handicap.

Never mind that it's ridiculous to say he's "proven" anything. Honestly.

I think you're underestimating the situation.....if Lee's wife isn't comfortable in NYC....he's won't sign with the Yanks....it's that simple.....but keep your hopes alive.....it's funny to watch.

Because I know that I judge an entire city based on the behavior of several fans at a sporting event. Especially if millions of dollars are at stake.

C'mon. You're a millionaire star pitcher at the top of your game with the absolute most leverage you will ever have and wifey, who contributes .000000000235 of the household take home, has the final veto? How do you canucks reproduce without testicles?

Yankees are opening contract talks with Girardi on Monday. Looks like they want him back for at least another 3 years.

I'm alright with keeping Girardi. He isn't the reason we lost the ALCS despite what some here believe.
