I hope guys like Dixon and Gilbert (and possibly Gholston but that would be a miracle) learn as much as they can from the likes of Ellis and Pryce. We need to develop some talent at DE.

 

Gholston has 5 months until he is cut.

After that he is gone..unless he takes a $5 million pay cut

 

Vernon Gholston will not be a part of this organization in the future.

...and even if Marcus Dixon and/or Jarron Gilbert pans out, we'll still need to bring in some more young talent on the defensive line.

 

Yeah but he's usually on an NFL roster so he makes probably like 800k to a million a year. Do that for 5-7 years, invest well and you're set for life.

Oh I sooo hope so! The only thing I'm sad about is tha Rex will have to admit his defeat in turning Gholston into a football player.

Agreed... but I hope one of them turns at least into a competent backup.
We also have Pitoitua coming back next year so, although we don't have top notch talent, we aren't thin at DE.

But I agree it wouldn't hurt to get someone high in the next draft.

 

Rex has done wonders for plenty of players, and Gholston wasn't even his mistake.

Rex loved him in camp, at least loved his effort. At 6-2, 325 he's no slouch.

ONly needs to gain 35 pounds and grow 2 inches to be Jenks.

 

Rex loves many of his players ... I'm cool with the "talk 'em up" techinque but fans have to take it with a pinch of salt.

That said whoever we sign as the 53 man I'm ok with that.
