    Joe Walton - 1983-1989 (53-57-1) 1-2 in the Playoffs
    Herman Edwards - 2001 - 2005 (39 - 41) 2-3 in the Playoffs

The proof is in the pudding. Not a huge Herm fan, but he got us to the promise land a few times.

Went with Herm. Both took over good teams and did ok until they fell apart, but Herm was more motivational and the players mostly loved him. Both had obvious flaws but if I had to hire one I hire Herm.

Neither one really achieved anything other than a few playoff wins. When I started watching the Jets Walton was the coach. I loved those teams back in the day, regardless of their shortcomings.

Oh Geez...... this is like the Brady / Mitchell thread

Both inherited talented rosters and drove them into the ground....... From what I've heard the players liked Herm better. He did have better press conferences, and didn't pick his nose in front of the TV camera, so I guess I'll go with him.

    :shit:

I would like to write in all of Herm's coordinators. I may not have liked some of them but they are mainly responsible for the success the Jets had while Herm played with his Lincoln Logs in the office waiting for Bradway to tell him when the cameras were going to show up.

What would you rather eat, a cheeseburger I farted on or a hamburger I farted on?

One took over a young team that was 30 mins from the SB, the other took over a team that hadn't made the playoffs in 3 years and had more coaches than playoff wins in that span.

Getting 9-10 wins and into the playoffs was a lot easier in Herms day. They're about a wash.

Both coaches accomplished about the same amount but Herm started with a team which was in much better shape.

Just out of curiosities sake, do you have any evidence for this claim or is it just hating on Herm for the hell of it?

Because I for one have a tough time believing that Paul Hackett, Donnie Henderson and Ted Cotrell deserve credit for much of anything.
