4-1..1-0 in the east. Yea, they have played cupcakes, but I think they have turned the corner. They have a legit shot at the Crappy Big East.
They are certainly better, but I don't think they are a serious contender yet. Like you said their schedule has been cupcakes so far. Sure the last few years they still would have lost those games, but that doesnt make them an above average team yet. in the next 2-3 years the Cuse program will turn the corner and become contenders in the big east, but they just arent that good yet.
This is all about how motivated Doug Marrone can keep them. If he keeps them focused, I don't think there is a team in the conference we can't beat. They need 3 more wins to "secure" a bowl game, which would be a huge step to redemption.
Not yet. They shat the bed against Pitt. Just a bad outing. There's no doubt they can beat everyone on the rest of the schedule.
There's plenty of doubt. ...at least there's plenty in my mind. You do realize they play WVU this Saturday, right?
No. They beat USF in Tampa, but USF hasn't scored an offensive TD against either Big East opponent they have faced this year. WVU should dominate them.
And I don't think they beat Cincy either. They're righting the ship but will take a few years and better recruiting classes.
What?? No. No way. They beat Maine, Colgate, and Akron for three of their four wins, and the Bulls look miserable this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the Orange lost every game the rest of this season. Not saying they will, but it's very much possible.
If by notable you mean stellar, than Freeney. But if you are just talking about a decent NFL starter, Tanard Jackson was starting for the Bucs, till he fubard himself. Also Mike Williams and Arthur Jones were 3rd round picks this year if memory serves....
Also Steve Gregory just got suspended with the chargers for PEDs. The last time they were good was my freshman year 2001-2002 season when Dwight Freeney set the collegiate sack record (only to be broken a year later by Terrell Suggs) and they were ranked #12 in the country. They won their bowl game against Kansas State that year. Since then they fucking suck and it's a disgrace.
Su football has a long way to go! the program looks to be on track but not close. This is just year two of what looks like a long road. At least it finally looks like we are moving forward Robinson was horrible.
What bowl game was that? I saw them play Kansas St in 97 at the Fiesta Bowl when they had McNabb and Donovan Darius. Michael Bishop shit all over them. I think he threw for 400 yards. It was a pretty good game though. Last year of the Non BCS system.
Huge win for SU. Houge is a beast at Middle LB. Not bad for a 4th string RB 2 years ago! You just get a feeling from Marone that he is building something. Good for him and good for SU.
