It was one quote from someone and it got ripped to shreds by everyone even Jets fans because it was pretty over the top. Now the typical fin fan is trying to spin it. No one is that stupid to believe it.
Don't name sites without a link and the quote. Stop the bullshit. You fuckin Fin fans never get it. You never get that we aren't that stupid. Go find me the quote.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/21/an-early-look-at-the-major-awards/ Watch the video The Bucky Brooks article on NFL.com I'm sure you already know about Looking for the ESPN article, but there's 2 to start.
I like these post Week 4 Sanchez numbers * 350 yards passing with four touchdowns and a 94.1 rating on short passes (those traveling 10 or fewer yards downfield); * 257 yards, two touchdowns and a 133.3 rating (second-highest in the NFL) on passes traveling 11 to 20 yards downfield; * 104 yards, two touchdowns and a 106.1 rating on passes traveling 21-plus yards even though Sanchez has completed only 3 of 11 such attempts; * a league-leading 120.1 rating with six touchdowns when opponents rush with more than four defenders (Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer and Tom Brady rank second through fourth in this critical area); * eight touchdown passes and the NFL's second-best rating (behind only Manning) on throws made from inside the pocket, an indication Sanchez isn't bailing from the pocket unnecessarily.
Romo is the 2nd most overrated. If that means Sanchez is just a little worse than Romo, I'll take that.
Florio and Sando, and both discussions talked about how he is on the fringe of the MVP talk, but he is not close to being the #1 and they're giving him credit for his good numbers. MVP talk is still idiotically laughable and I'm the biggest Sanchez supporter on this board. Anyway, the overrated talk is just as dumb, and the players know nothing because they don't watch every game and see what's going on. I'm going to guess this survey was done last week, so all they hear about is his hot start but they remember him from last year, so they call him overrated. Very simple math to follow.
Agreed, but really week after week a different player steps up and makes a play. It truly is difficult to pick out one player on the Jets and say, " he is a surefire MVP". There really isn't anyone having a "Revis" dominant performance this year.
I know one thing, the distance Sanchez has traveled from the abyss of last years midseason performance to the Sanchez we see today, is a lot further then the distance to being a top 10 QB. I am not saying it is easy or he will get there, just that he has made significant strides in his development in his sophomore year. A year where the majority of young QB's shit the bed.
Eli was on that same poll during his magic year. To me it just means other players are jealous, nothing more and nothing less.
My god, yes. How much praise did Sanchez get in the off-season? Pre-season? Week 1? Oh, none? How the hell he's over-rated is beyond me.
