Yeah, that's what I was writing about earlier in the thread. To me, it makes more sense to pitch Burnett in Game 4 and cross your fingers.

7.5 seems high. I don't pay attention to baseball lines, though.

agreed. Maybe he'll find some balls when everyone is counting him out. Even if Burnett wins, I think th eYankees lose the series.

Like I said the other day, Jeter should retire and save the Yankees the aggravation of having to re-sing him even though they know hes done

That was a nationally televised, three and a half hour long ass raping.

We'll need about a dozen runs tomorrow.

So...Would you have traded Jesus Montero for Cliff Lee...Or have Lee potentially beat us out this season and sign him in the off season?

For a Yankee Stadium game, it's as low as it ever gets, really.

I obviously agree that lower was a fair line, though, which is why I took it.

Montero was said to be in teh deal already. So its kind of moot. I ALWAYS err on the "get rid of the kid for the proven player" side. No exceptions here.

I think they're going to stick with Burnett. That way, you'll have CC, Hughes, and Pettitte all on normal rest.

Even if they win tonight, they'll need to win two of the next three games.

Well, I go away for a little while and everything goes to shit.

Well, actually, that would imply that things weren't already shit. The Yankees cannot drive in runs. 1 for 19 with RISP. Seriously? You can't beat playoff teams like that, just like I've been saying all year.

Cakes' sig proved out last night. I wanted Lee so badly it hurt. I'd have given practically anything in the system for him. For two reasons, which are really 1: A) he wouldn't have pitched for the Rangers last night, and B) he would have pitched for the Yankees in game 2 against the Rays. Watch him not even come here this winter now.

This lineup is old and tired. Posada is shit. I don't give a damn what people think of Cervelli, I'd rather the kid were in right now. Jorge strikes out repeatedly, looking, and bitches about it every single time. The ball was right over the middle of the plate, belt-high, George. Wake the f**k up.

Jeter is old. Period. His age can't be masked anymore. To be quite honest, F the fan base and the backlash. Tell him "Sorry, we're moving on" this winter.

ARod should be a full-time DH. He doesn't even bother to run balls out anymore. Dickhead.

Tex was "my guy" and he's shit all over the bed in October. I'm done being his cheerleader until he proves he can not be a complete asshat at the plate.

Granderson is still Granderson. A nice little month of being on a nice roll isn't enough. Jackson can strike out just as easily as him.

Brett Gardner and Andy Pettitte are the only guys on this team with any freaking heart whatsoever. Cano is amazing, but he can't carry the team. I will say "How about Moseley?" though. People thinking that Gaudin would have been the better option were bonkers. Gaudin better not be in pinstripes next year. Mitre and Moseley are our middle relief. Who knows what'll happen with Joba. I know they won't pay Wood, but they should.

Anyway, this comes down to that jackass in the jacket. Joey Looseleafs managed his way backward into the wild card and it's coming back to bite him in the ass. I'd be overjoyed right now, except that the Cubs just announced that they have given their managerial position to the guy who filled in when Pinella quit. That means no running to Chitown for dipshit. That probably means he'll get to stay here. Yippie!!

Oh Jesus, again with the heart nonsense. Sometimes the other guys are just better.

There's no question Texas has the better team. They have the best starter in baseball, and the rest of the rotation is formidable. Their pen is suspect, but when you give your starters a 5 run lead, you don't really need to worry about a pen collapse most of the time.

Their lineup is better overall too. The key thing they're doing that the Yankees aren't is stringing together hits. Moving runners from base to base is something the Yankees don't do. They just rear back and try to hit the ball into the street while the Rangers are willing to steal a few bases and sacrifice guys over.

My only point about Gardner and Pettitte is that they're the only two guys out there that look like they even give a shit and are willing to be patient and slow down the game. Everyone else is just trying to be a hero.

Sometimes bunts win games. Who besides Gardner would even be asked to bunt on this team?

Guys get shut down by the best pitchers in baseball all the time in the playoffs. Its because the best pitchers in baseball generally are, you know, pretty good. Not because guys aren't trying or don't give a shit.

Bunts don't win jack. You don't take the bat out of a good hitter's hands. When Cano squared up to bunt leading off the fifth (?) last night, I almost threw a shoe at the TV. Ridiculous.
