If we ever get to the Superbowl again any Jet fan who bets against us should be drawn and quartered. That being said, "Taking home the fat chick" rules apply: Only if you're sure it's a lock and your friends won't find out.
Not if you know that by betting against them they're guaranteed to win. In years past I've always made some kind of a friendly wager with my friends concerning the Jets... its never gone to well. Last year I didn't bet at all, and this year I bet on the 49ers instead of the Jets... look how that's working out. I guess my point is, I'll never bet on the Jets again.
How about this one Is it okay to bet against the Jets if they are favored by a large margin and while you believe they will win, you don't think they can cover the spread?
I think it is genuinely stupid to bet anything on your favorite team, I don't want my homerism messing with my money.
I don't like betting on the Jets at all. Win or lose I don't bet on my team. I bet on other teams, just not the Jets.
Why this topic in Jets bye week though? I picked "Yes, as a hedge so it's not so bad if they lose'', but trust me, it is still bad. I'd rather lose the money than the game.
Me and my friends went to Buffalo Wild Wings on Monday Night against the Vikes. I bet them Jets will win and if we do, one of them would pay the whole bill. It was a good bet.
I do the hedge thing - I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and I bet Dolphins money line over the Jets. I always bet an amount I would happily surrender in exchange for a Jets victory. When they won I happily ripped my ticket into confetti. Sort of OT, but the sports book at the Aria is sick.
I did it in 07. Can you blame me? They sucked balls. It was easy money. Now since the Jets are favored, I bet on them.
