According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Bill Parcells has packed up his office and has moved out of the Dolphins complex. Parcells apparently is still a consultant with the team, but he won’t be working from team headquarters any more and won't be involved in day-to-day decisions.

    From Schefter:

Miami knew this move was coming, but didn't realize Parcells' departure would happen so soon.

Many around the league expected Parcells to finish the season and then move on from the organization. The Dolphins must still pay Parcells the balance of the $12 million due to him under a four-year contract that expires after the 2011 season.

Heck of a deal by the Dolphins, by the way. Parcells can leave whenever he wants, and Miami still has to pay him. Where can I sign up for a deal like that?

Weird of him to quit midseason. I think he may have gotten tired of the celebrity circus that surrounds the home games perhaps?

Maybe it's because he can't stand Sparano's post gamepress conferences. They remind me of an SNL Ditka skit! Da Beears...

So he's gonna chill for a year and a half and then get the Bills a wild card birth in 2012?

Why? Pioli and crew have done a great job. What would he possibly do that they haven't?

Parcells seems to gravitate towards the high profile, big media coverage teams such as Miami, New York, and Dallas. If this holds true than that leaves out KC. At one point, I was thinking Cincy. I can see him staying in Miami as a special consultant.

Parcells is as Anti-Buffalo as you get. The entire AFCE, NY Giants and Cowboys. I'd say Washington to complete the cycle, but Shanny is there right now....

Parcells turned them from a joke to a playoff contender. That's enough.

Everyone (read, the shithole that is finheaven) hates on Parcells for the bad pickups he had, and don't really care for the good picks. Long was obviously a fantastic pick (although it's hard to bust on first round o-linemen). The Dansby FA pickup was as big as any pickup we made. For as much shit as Miami got during the offseason for dumping JT and Porter, it was all for naught. Anyone who's watched the games can see the huge improvement in LB play. The talent Miami has now is a vast improvement over what they started with, and most importantly, pretty damn young. I have nothing bad to say about Bill.

He and Al will drive each other nuts if he goes. But doubt he will unless Big Al shows him the cash!

Shit Raider fans should all chip in and pay Parcells themselves. He'd smother Al with a pillow by day three and they could have their team back.

Fin fans will, as expected, bash Parcells for leaving without a ring but he turned that franchise around big time much like he did for the NYJ. The guy knows how to make teams competitive.

The one issue with that is he goes to teams that were so bad the years before that they can go nowhere but up. Not saying he doesn't have an eye for talent. But he goes to teams where 8-8 would be a success compared to the 2-3 wins they had the season before.

Exactly what I was thinking. It has to be embarrassing to somebody like him.
