Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Sanchez say something about Schotty calling a pass play and that he(Sanchez) should have checked out of that play to a run?
Not sure which play or when he was referring but I think it was on one of the picks?

Just struck me as curious that Sanchez sounded sorta like he was calling Schotty out on that play.

I think that passer rating can be an extremely overrated stat. Sometimes you'll get a QB that hardly ever makes big plays (hello Chad Pennington) that has an astronomical PR.

Completion rate on the other hand is a meaningful passer statistic and it's frustrating that Sanchez's numbers are still so poor. Clearly he was victimized by lots of drops in the Vikings game. Didn't see yesterday's game so I can't comment.

It was the one before the half, when they were in field goal range.

He said Schotty called a pass, but he should have had the maturity or something to recognize it was too risky to pass and just call a run and take the three points.

ive def noticed. what ever happened to the slants and sluggos to braylon? the option routes to cotch? and it seems like the only receiver that beats a zone is keller ... we need to open up the route tree for all of our receivers

Who gives about ratings? Sanchez is doing good and making some accurate throws but the receiver isn't catching them. Don't blame Sanchez for having a low completion percentage. The QB makes the receiver or the receiver make the QB. I can bet you that Holmes would have caught that deep ball if the defender didn't have a grasp on Holmes facemask. That was a nice throw by Sanchez.

Greene is play just about as well as Tomlinson.

Cotchery has much better hands than Braylon, yet Sanchez has a crush on Braylon for some reason....

I would respond to this, but I really don't think it's worth it.

By your user name, it looks like you have a crush on Jerricho for some reason....

@624 - Looks like you may have a crush on Braylon as well. Defending him in all my posts and have a signature of him to match the poster on your wall?

Maybe because Braylon is an athletic freak lined up at #1 WR and gets open more often? Did you happen to see him toast Champ Bailey yesterday?

Cotchery is a nice possession guy with great hands but he's probably the 3rd or 4th read on most plays. By definition he's not going to get as many balls thrown his way, it has nothing to do with any sort of "man crush".

@WhiteShoeWillie - Yes, Braylon is athletic and can get open decent. However, I see replays where Cotchery is open just as much, but Sanchez locks in on one guy too often.

EDIT - I don't see where you can select to quote a damn post, lol.

Like I said, Cotch is the 3rd or 4th read on most plays. Nacho is supposed to look at 2 or 3 other WR's before him. This is a natural distribution you're noticing.

@ WhiteShoeWillie - OK. Then I blame Shotty. He has a crush on his "new toys". He's had a great receiver for several years and is tossin' him to the curb it seems.

And oh yeah, LOL @ "Nacho". Good stuff.

No need to blame anyone. The fact of the matter is that Cotchery is the 3rd most talented receiver on the team and best suited for the slot role. I understand you're a big fan of his and would like to see him get more touches, but he's slotted exactly right in this offense AFAIC.

@WhiteShoeWillie - Yes, I am a fan of his because of what he has done for the Jets over the years. He's been one of their best players. He's just as good as the other receivers, but Shotty is excited to have the new guys. If you watch replays, Cotch is open many a time when Sanchez throws to a covered guy.

I love Cotchery - he reminds me of Anquan Boldin with less speed. That said, he has two extremely gifted receivers ahead of him. He's probably #2 WR at worst on most teams. Edwards and Holmes are extremely dangerous weapons.

It seems that way because Sanchez likes to throw to the guys that are covered the most. Watch replays and you'll see some open receivers.

How dare I defend a player on my favorite team?

...and as you can see many posters have various players they "adopted"

    Mine happens to be Braylon.....OMG

    Fuck you lol
