ESPN researcher Mark Simon sent along an interesting nugget about how peculiar the New York Jets' victory against the Denver Broncos was Sunday. The Jets were: * On the road. * Outgained on the ground. * Outgained in the air. * Lost the turnover battle. Since 2007, there have been 125 games in which all of those criteria were met. In those situations, teams are 3-122. Two of those victories happened this year. The Green Bay Packers beat the Philadelphia Eagles that way in Week 1. The last time the Jets won a road game in which they had fewer rushing and passing yards and more turnover than their hosts was a 24-22 victory against the Oakland Raiders nine years ago. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/20231/jets-victory-in-denver-defied-the-stats Who thinks about and researches this shit?
please all those stats are in a huge database system..all they have to do it type in their criteria and boom results.
Probably someone with access to a relational database that can write simple queries to retrieve that information.
I wonder if the refs had money on the losing team in any of those other 2 victories when all those stats were true?
