Its 2001-2010 but whatever. Everyone thinks the decade ended. The new millennium celebration should have been Jan 1, 2001
I think it's hilarious when people get all huffy about what a decade is, mostly because they're all wrong. A decade is a decade is a decade. All it means is ten years. The way millennia or centuries are counted/tracked doesn't change this definition. 1994-2003 was a decade. So as long as you're talking about a ten year period, you're correct. After that, the degree of correctness is about context. Are you talking about decades since a particular reference point, say, 0 CE (you could call that a mathematical decade)? If so, it might matter that you start from Year xxx1 and go to Year xx10. But when discussing (for lack of a better term) cultural decades, it's common (and still correct) to refer to "2000-2009" as a decade. The Sixties were a decade, right? Are you telling me that the Sixties included the years 1961-1970, but you don't count 1960? Come on.
what are we in the regular season of 2010? 7-1? definately leads the league if you consider the playoffs. thats 2 more victories, so 9-2. good shit!
While nobody really cares and I don't care to be turn this into some kind of pedantic debate, I don't consider 2010 the start of a new decade either because there was no year zero. If we're talking about a decade-long era like the '80s or '90s on the other hand, sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_0#Counting_intervals_without_a_zero Either way, I thought this thread was going to cover the last ten years, which would have been a shock after some of the Herm Edwards abominations.
It depends on what calendar you are going by. Mine says a decade always starts with a number ending in zero.
c'mon, there have only been 6 weeks. 5-1 regular season, plus 2 playoff wins, a playoff loss, and the SNF game vs. the Bengals makes 8-2.
