Did this bother anyone else? It doesn't really stand out from the general 'tardspeak we get from Gumbel and Dierdorf, but it was annoying that they kept calling Brad Smith's snaps the Seminole formation. Are they so desperate to give everything a cutesy nickname that it doesn't even have to make sense at all? If anyone didn't know, our version of the "Wildcat" was called the Seminole when we did direct snaps to FSU alum Leon Washington. Since Leon is gone, this name obviously no longer applies.
Yeah Tirico was calling it the Seminole against the Dolphins and even mentioned that it was named after FSU.
It's still called the Seminole. That's how it is in the playbook. I know because I have a copy next to my toilet.
It's Dierdoff, a lost cause. In the spirit of accuracy they should have called it The Tiger or something or they could have called it directsnapthatthemostannoyingshitttycolorcommentatoronthefaceofthisearthkeepsfuckingupcat. In honor of Dierdoff of course.......
This feels truthy. I'm not sure, but I could have sworn Schotty talked about keeping the name at a press conference. But more importantly, this is a huge fucking win.
I was thinking the same thing....not just you. What should we call it then?? I hate the Wildcat as that is a Dolphin thing. Do they have a name for it? Smiths HS team was the 'Cowboys'...no good! College was the tigers.
Also, I swear we used Brad Smith at QB and Leon was still the runningback in that formation last year. Am I wrong?
If it needs to be called anything, I like Bradcat. It's not a serious nickname, and pokes fun at the wildcat. Even then, Seminole still sort of made sense with Leon involved.
Yeah no kidding. i think he only threw a pass once, and it was to Edwards in the AFC championship game. The option would probably work better if they threw it once in a while.
