It pains me to say it but when the Giants are on, they can be a hell of a team. Their running game (Bradshaw, fuck Jacobs) is good and the receivers may be better. If their D-line keeps it up they should make the playoffs even with a weak secondary and horrific special teams. Their o-line is too inconsistent so I'm not sure how they'll hold up.

Its all on Eli imo. If he can be consistently good they will win. If he has those games where you have no idea what he is thinking like when he throws a pick lefty at the goal line you have to think they are going nowhere like last year

Yea I can see that they have potential, but they didn't put anyone on notice. He tried to make it like the Giants just beat like the Colts or something. They only beat the Texans...

I remember him even saying, that all times now have their eyes on the Giants as a feared team. He really overhypes them ridicolously.

I haven't payed a whole lot of attention to the Giants but I've noticed that Eli plays well when things are going well around him. In that Tennessee game he played poorly when the team collapsed around him. Against the Colts he looked terrified because the pass-rush just kept getting to him and he had no time to throw the ball. Against the texans he looked good because the running game got going and he had time to throw the ball.

I can't see him carrying the team by himself and throwing the Giants into victories. How they can/will win is if they can develop the run and fend off the pass rush to buy time for Eli's downfield throws. The Giants are a better passing team on routes that are 15+ I think. They don't really have guys with the skillset for 5-10 yard quick-routes. Maybe a Giants fan can agree or correct me here because I'm kinda talkin outta my ass at this point.

I don't understand why he hates the Jets though? I don't hate the Giants, theirs no real rivalry. He has a complete hatred toward the entire team.

Something must have happened to him when he was younger haha

-hey Mike first time long time love the show.

    Tanks Vin.

Hey I got a question. After this Latest Revis thing with the reckless driving, do you think Rex has lost control of the team?

Definitely. The guy cant conrool his language or his appetittee so how can he control hiz playas? Look at Tony Dungee da guys a Alta boy and a winna. And Ya nevah heer coughlin curse neetha. And have ya taken a look at the Dolphins coach lately? Tha guy laid off the Cannolis and da mannagot and lost dat weight. Rex needed sugerey.

    Heres Mink wit da flash.

Best case scenario for fatso to have a horrible Monday...

    - ALCS tied 1-1
    - Giants lose to Lions
    - Jets Win

    one outta 3...so far

Giant fan here, want to say your site is very good and I enjoy reading/getting the Jets fan perspective on things. I also get a kick out of the hatred for Francessa. I remember back in the early Fassel years with the Giants Mike was the same way with the Giants defense, he hated Strahan, did not think they were any good, could never stop anyone in a big spot etc etc. Now he casually mentions how he never got along with Strahan because thats all he can do after the way his career ended. My point to you guys is your best medicine for him will be winning a Super Bowl. Now I hope you dont, because I hope the Giants do, but if that does not happen I envy the joy you will get shutting this ass clown up.

Just a note for the poster who mentioned something about the Giants secondary as weakness. Thus far it has been a tremendous strength with Philoips and Rolle playing well at S and Webster Thomas and Ross playing exceptional cb. Giants lead the league in pass defense. Of course a good pass rush helps, but the secondary woes of 2009 seem to be behind them.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Francesa made so many inaccurate statements today I can't even count. He said them to Phil Simms so you know it's not just an act like many of you think.

First he says Ed Reed is back today and Phil Simms has to correct him and say not for 2 more weeks. Then he says QB's are fumbling at a higher rate then usual and costing people games. Phil Simms says he hasn't noticed QB's fumbling more then usual. Then he says he doesn't think Revis will play today but the Jets get Calvin Pace back. LOL...Not knowing Calvin Pace was playing last week.

That's great. I love that Simms corrects him rather than letting his BS stand as fact.

Meanwhile, Fox NFL Sunday just ran a piece about the Giants' defense being number one in the NFL right now, Pam Oliver just took a shot at the Jets. (fuck her, incidentally) Mike tomorrow:

"If a teem iz numba one in deefense, dat's a big time deefense. Everbody's talkin about da Jets but da Jets last yeah neva had a deefense like dis Giants deefense."

i've been saying this for awhile now.. Mike Francesa really doesnt know whats going on in the sports world anymore. He is getting too old, and has like 3 kids that are under 10 years old.

Guy is basically a grandfather, but had his grandchildren 24/7... Oh wait That's like all grandpa's!

edit: he hasnt said much about the jets recently.

I wish he would say "Ughh...dis cablevision ting is ouwta controwwll.. its sick how dey treat da fans, but you guys should go to da games, and be in da building like me. I must say da Classy Giants fans dant daserve to lose da games, da classless jets should lose dere games. i mean ughhh come awn da Giants awh still creme da crowwp...ughhh back afta dis"

he hasn't talked about the jets because they've been winning. he actually spent wednesday-friday on the yankees playoff rotation for the ALCS. all 5 hours. he threw in a football guest, ken wisenhunt. NICE! he doesn't even set aside an hour for football.

but you can bet if they should lose today he'll make sure he sets aside an hour each day to talk about the jets loss.

maybe the best francesa comment from today was when he said

'the thing you worry about with the jets is that they're +11 in turnovers and haven't been blowin people out.'

LOL. The Jets have the best pt differential in the NFL.
