I like this choice, but I think I would prefer a true pass rushing LB like James Harrison to improve our pass rush.

I'd honestly take last years Dawkins over Polamalu. In addition to being a beast Dawkins is a much better leader than Polamalu and his big hits fit well with Rex's smashmouth style.

wow, man.....I dunno about that. Polamalu is a game changer and a wrecking ball....the Steelers D is NOTHING without him.

What would Denver be without Dawkins to lead them? If we had either one I wouldn't complain though. Big hits all around...

Denver hasn't been to the playoffs during Dawkins' tenure there......Polamalu, different story. Also, with Polamalu...the Steelers are a top 3 defense....when he's out of their lineup, the Raiders beat them at home.

true, but they also have this guy as their head coach, whereas the steelers have in my opinion the best coach in their history.

    what the?

Chuck Knox was better than both Cowher and Tomlin......not that has any effect on the Dawkins vs. Polamalu argument.

Dawkins is a damn good safety, but he's never been in Polamalu or Reed's class.

Eh, I think there's an argument to be had there. Mid 2000's, Dawkins was pretty goddamn good.

His best work was before Reed and Troy got to the league, so I'm really going off of those years.

His overall career, I'd still put him right under those two, without much of a margin in between them.

In terms of being an emotional leader and a man who dictates how intense his defense plays - I will say he wins that. That's why I've had respect for him even when he was an Eagle.
