Today's show went like this: 1-2 PM: Hating the jets, downplaying their win on MNF 2PM - end of show: MANTLE MANTLE MANTLE MANTLE MANTLE as the MLB playoffs and the NFL seasons are in full swing.
Francesa scheduled the interview for today for a good reason. He thought the Jets would win so he picks the Tuesday after MNF so he only needs to discuss it for an hour and in that hour he can get away with nit picking with only a few callers yelling at him. it worked out perfectly because there were only 2 or 3 callers that killed him with his jet hatred. and if the Jets somehow lost it's Jets hating from 1-2 2PM-5PM Mantle 5-PM-end of show more Jet bashing but because the jets won the rest of the show was mantle. It's pretty much a given that Fatty will criticize the Jets for something unless they have a crisp performance.
I'm all for dumping on Francesser when he deserves it, but some of you guys grasp at straws sometimes. The Mantle biography hit store shelves today. That is the reason he interviewed the author today.

I'll speak for myself here. Any anti-Mantle things I have said are only to highlight Fatty's double standard concerning Mantle's boozing (which Fatty sweeps under the rug) as compared to all of his bluster about Braylon. Mantle is one of the all time greats.

Most people use the buttons to go back and forth, it's just surprising when you check back an hour later and it's still Mickey Mantle. It's like he just wants a handful of stodgy old Yankee fans like himself to listen, I guess.
Francessa will talk baseball all season, and all offseason long, as he considers NY a baseball town. I just change the channel, like everyone else. I barely listen to WFAN due to his Jets hate and the fact that his show is just plain dull. Meanwhile, ESPN Radio has all football guests on, but still throws baseball on there for the baseball fans, not as overbearing as Mike is on it though.
Considering Kay is their main guy they do a good job on other sports. Recently I got XM so I have the Dog back. He's way better by himself than Mike, but lately he's all over the SF Giants and I can't listen to that. For one thing I'm tired of baseball and also I'm a Dodger fan.

I'm as big a baseball fan as there is but it's really sad how little he discusses football unless the Jets are in crisis mode. Today was 5 hours of Yankees and who's going to pitch what game during the series. The series begins Friday! Can we ever discuss the Jets after a win other then the first hour of the show each monday? after they lost to the ravens it was jets all week.
