not just that but the penalties. especially the hold on Santonio on the 3rd down pass to cotch down the sideline.
The jury was out on Sanchez after year one. There were positives, him leading us to the AFC Championship game and playing above average football doing it was the primary one. But he still had a lot to prove this year, and week one was a regression. But the last 3 weeks in division were everything we thought he could be. That's the type of quarterback we're looking for. He started one year in college, and one year plus in the NFL. He's not going to reach his full potential just yet. But he's getting close, and contributing zero turnovers in more than a quarter of the season is unbelievable.
By a huge margin. He threw a 4th quarter TD on 3rd down to Dustin Keller while outside of the pocket, on the road, in the playoffs, in a pressure situation. Fuck stats, that is a BIG TIME throw and shows that he is clutch, and had a big role in winning that game.
Something else that bears mentioning..... The Jets "win and we're in" scenario combined with the huge win over the Colts the week before effectively created two extra "playoff" games for Mark. Resting starters controversy aside..these were still must wins....and he went out and won them... That would make him 4-1 in win or go home games. Not too shabby for a Rookie.
Factoring in age, commitment to winning, and upside, I wouldn't trade Sanchez heads up, for any other quarterback.
