Always root against the divisional opponent this early in the year. Ravens are not going 15-1 they will lose down the road. Id rather lock up the division. Dont sleep on the Pats.
No - Head to Head is the first tie breaker http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures Cincy will be dead by last game of season, and I do not see Pitt winning in Baltimore (Every one has an opinion)- You say they won't run the table (I think they could)- but I say the odds of them going less than 13-3 if they beat the Pats is very unlikely. NE's Schedule Bal @SD Minn @Cle @Pitt Ind @Det NYJ @Chi GB @ Buff Mia Out of @SD, Minn, @Pitt, Ind, NYJ, @Chi, GB, Mia - I can almost guarantee the Pats will lose at least 4 or 5 games, They will be 11-5 at best, 10-6 more likely, with two losses to the NYJ they are not winning the divison.
Go Ravens, we need to put the stake in Belichick's and Tommy Boy's hearts for the division, before we worry about home field
I'm laughing :rofl2: Somebody hasn't been watching the games, it's only week 5. For me the division teams always need to lose. We need to take the division from the Pats first. The rest are just MF'rs the Jets need to deal with...
This is great EITHER way. Why? Cuz one of them WILL lose. Lets face it, these two team will win more often than they'll lose.
Rooting for Ravens. I am confident the Jets will win the division this year. However, a Crow loss vs Pats = 1 seed possibility for Jets. This is all provided our team takes care of business this season. A win vs Buf & MIA @ home should be good. But we go to NE and thats an absolute must win.
But then the Ravens have a leg up on home field if we end up tied overall. It's a tough one. One one hand the Pats losing helps us big time and I guess winning the division is an important first step. The only thing right now is we have a game in hand with the Pats and a 3-0 division record, so as long as we finish with a better division record than the Pats we win no matter what happens the second game. On the other hand if the Ravens lose they either fall a game behind us or tied with us depending on the Broncos game. It's a long way til we have to start figuring these scenarios but since we have an edge on the Pats already I'd rather see the Ravens drop one.
^^^Thank you. Abraham94, forget "division" for a second. Think CONFERENCE as in home field CONFERENCE playoff advantage.
I will root for the ravens. I'd rather see us close out the division first than worry about home field.
Without Moss, don't see the Pats getting enough wins to lead the division. Moss being out should also hurt Wes Walker who will be getting more attention. Pats are going to get at least 5-6 losses this season. Ravens are just dominant & they've got a tie-breaker w/ the Jets from the first game. Not good enough to tie the Ravens. Win by the Pats would give Jets the edge on them for home field.
Yeah really, I don't care what the Ravens do. Always root for the Patriots and Miami to lose...always.
There is no way of knowing in Week 6 what outcome will be "better" for the Jets . Just like my outlook/predictions for the Pats/Dolphins, I am rooting for the Pats/Ravens to beat the crap out of one another.
The season is only 1/4 finished...... Until divisional competition is eliminated I ALWAYS want them to lose! Don't put the cart before the horse. :gpc:
These teams have lost 20% of their games so far, and on Sunday, they will lose 50% of their games. This is a good thing. I'm rooting for BALT. Reasons: 1) I hate NE. 2) We can't get any home games if we don't win our division (don't call me on a #5 vs. #6 in the AFCCG lol).
