Oh, I guess I misinterpreted the words "Stop Blitzing" I guess that means only sometimes stop blitzing?
I really think he deserves to be banned, I've never seen just asinine, pessimistic, and annoying posts in my entire life.
I said it in the game thread but that 3rd and 19 safety blitz (Again, 3rd and 19!!!!) was an awful playcall and a gamechanger, IMO
"Stop Blitzing... so much" that would just sound weak and stupid for a thread title. In the post I get specific about blitzing 3rd and long in the red zone. That should be enough.
WTF? You guys are killing him when he's right. The blitz is great, it's the backbone of this defense. BUT, we've let up countless 3rd and 15+ conversions throughout these first 5 games because we send the house and the opposing offense capitalizes because they know it's coming. If it were a fluke first down here and there I wouldn't mind, but I feel like every time we're up against a 3rd and long we give up the first down. The games against the Ravens and Vikings are responsible for at least 7 or 8 of these conversions. I'm no defensive coordinator but I'd prefer to see us rush 4 or 5 on 3rd and long and play against the pass without giving up a stupid penalty to prevent a touchdown or a 25 yard slant for a first down.

The team is 4 -1. Rex Ryan lives and dies believing his corners can man up in the secondary to cover the blitz packages. If it has not worked lately is because he does not have his full secondary in tact. Yeah, Revis played last night but that was not 2009 vintage Revis out there. A 3 -4 defense without a blitz is Mangini all over again.

You will never see 2009 Revis again, so Rex needs to stop relying so heavily on his secondary and mix it up.
I don't know why people are saying this a bad thread. I completely agree. Rex is going overboard with the blitzing and it keeps costing us.
How is it costing us?? we have won 4 straight this way why is everyone complaining about this....blitz the whole fucking team as long as you get a win out of it week after week then it doesn't matter
Why won't we see the 2009 Revis? So after another 2 weeks off he can't be healthy for the rest of the season? Keep the blitzes just iron out the secondary assignments. Bend but don't break zone coverage all the time sucks up clock time and just plain ol' sucks!
Ummmm, touch downs? We allowed two TD's because of it and allowed the Vikings to get back in because of it. Like I said, I don't have a problem blitzing some of the time, just not fucking 90% of the time because a team will max protect and get the ball out and down the field to "someone" in single coverage. Especially in the red zone. If we could actually get to the damn QB in that situation it'd be great.
I'm all for the stop sending the all or nothing blitz on 3rd and long. Granted you got to mix it up and it works usually in the beginning of the game but then as teams become more familiar he continues to call the same overload blitzes. 4 man rush is that so crazy every now and then?? Fake blitz and drop 8 send only 3?? I love the blitzing but its becoming very predictable.
