Somewhere along the game, I saw something like the Vikings haven't given up 150+ rushing yards for over 4 years? I remember the analysts mentioning that it's the 2nd longest streak in history by an NFL team. I don't remember the exact stats, but I just know the Jets rushed for 155, therefore breaking a long-standing record. In a nerve-wrecking win with many problems we need to fix, super props to the O-Line, LT, and Greene.
We can run the rock against anybody when we comitt to it. We toted it for 155, and still threw 44 times in the rain! think about what could have happened if we actually focused on the running game...
^^ This. We did not play a great game by any means, but made big plays on both sides of the ball to seal it. Its a good sign that we can win when thigns are going wrong. It was nice to snap thier streak. I was afraid of finding ways to move the ball against this front four, but the O-line made huge holes for the backs. That was the best part of this game, moving the ball on the ground like we did. Now once Mark and Holmes develop a little chemistry, look out.
Idk I think we played a pretty damn great game. Yeah it was FAR too close for comfort, but a LARGE part of that was due to not converting in the red zone / holmes not being 100% (ie that dropped pass he had), and the absolutely terrible weather. The Jets could of scored 50 points this game had we made the most of our opprotunites. And hell if Revis didn't perform poorly the Vikings offense probably would of been in the single digits . Definitely a great game, just gotta make the most of our scoring opprotunities.
HURUMPH!!!...pouring rain and you throw a wet football all over the field, Sanchez threw the ball OVER FORTY TIMES tonight, all the while the run game is picking up over 150yds on a team that hasn't allowed that in over FIFTY GAMES...INEXCUSABLE!!!
Considering I don't think we commited to running the ball it's outstanding, we had too many times when I'm yelling to run the ball and instead Mark was whipping it high or guys were dropping. Considering the Vikes did a good job of putting pressure on Mark had we commited more to the run game we go over 200. I'm certainly glad we won but that playcalling before the 2 minute warning was inexcusable.
Sanchez played very well. Lets not forget the 5 fucking DROPS! It was the fact that he threw so much that kept the Vikes honest. If not they jam the box and it makes the run less effective.
We won, so I loved it, but we made a lot of miss ques on offense and defense. -Again third and long killed us. Rex needs to do something different here. -Key drops in the first half. Both Edwards and Holmes dropped long throws that hit them in the numbers to kill drives. -Punch the god damn ball in the endzone! -Mark missed some of his throws badly late. When receivers were not doing thier best to drop some, Mark was wildly inconsistant. Part of this could have been weather, but it was not a great night for his accuracy. -Clock management. It didn't hurt us, but could have. A small error that we hopefully learn from while picking up the win. Like I said, I'm hapy as hell we found a way to win and run the ball against a great front four, but I feel like we can still get better and thats scary.
