Defense should be unpredictable. The all out blitz on 3rd and long every single time is stupid. When it works it looks awesome, but it has burned us a lot over the last few games.
Rex isn't going to change his whole philosophy after it's gotten him the reputation as a top defensive mind the the world. Maybe if you made your thread more specific, like, stop blitzing 7-8 on 3rd and long. You said "stop blitzing", which would be retarded, especially in a 3-4 Rex Ryan defense.
The blitzing hasn't worked since the playoff game against San Diego last year. Enough already...draft a fucking pass rusher.
Well that's what I mean't don't blitz so many. Get 4 or 5 on the QB and drop back the rest. We're not doing so well in man coverage in those situations. It seems like we just can't get to the QB in time - and with that many pass rushers it must be fast.
I don't know why anyones bashing this thread, it makes complete sense. We get burned every fucking time we blitz on third and a billion because they max protect since they know its coming. If you drop them you drop a buncha dbacks with three receivers and a checkdown
You can't fucking blitz on every third and long. You need to create a range of decisions so the offense doesn't know what to expect. If you send the house every fucking time then it is not difficult for the offense to adjust. They know what is coming.
Rex lives by the blitz its the epitome of who he is. If you like him as a hc than support him. And if not than you're wrong.
What we need to stop doing is letting firemanedjr from posting, I don't know if anyone else saw it but his posts in the game thread were brutal. Worst Jets fan ever /rant.
