Perhaps not such a good idea to say "We're probably going to lose Schotty." Rex may be inferring that Schotty will be high in demand but didn't Schotty say he wants to stay with the Jets for at least awhile and grow with the development of Sanchez?

Schotty might feel unwanted by the CS, but could be just my ass talking.

Reading PC transcripts instead of listening to it can also take things out of context.

    Anyone else's take on this?

He's been saying we're gonna lose Schotty since the day he got here. It's a compliment. He says the same thing about Pettine.

Truth is if we won the SB this year there's a chance we lose all three...sure Westy would walk off into the sunset a year early.

Yeah reading Rex's transcript is useless. Half of what he says is a joke.

He means Rex thinks that Andy Pettite won't be in NY too long. so simple. duhh.

if we win the SB schotty and pettine could both be gone, but who is gonna fire their coach? pettitne will only go to a team that runs a 3-4 and none have coches on the hotseat. i think schotty will take over a coahcing job. possibilities are

    1) buffalo - gaily sucks and the east steals form each other
    2) giants - coughlin is on the hot seat
    3) niners - singletary is gone after this year

Some guys choose coordinating for a Super Bowl team over coaching a shitty team.

Rex may also be a factor in these guys sticking around. He must be awesome to work with.

I can see Schotty leaving in a minute. Pettine... not so much.

If we do that then the thread won't be updated as fast. If I come into the forum first for all the latest and greatest Jets news and If I see the press conference is up I get stoked and head over to watch it. Or if it isn't up I check to see if it is up and post it here.

I never read those damn long 1,000 post threads. Too many posts and too hard to find stuff.

I also don't want to read a press conference update or transcript. The real video is way too entertaining. Why take that away from me? It is pure gold.
I need a Rex Ryan press conference video fix every day. I'm a total junkie now.

I think you have a good point. I've heard Shotty say how happy he is to be with the Jets and loves working with Sanchez. I think Shotty would only leave for the right situation and would turn down being HC of a team that isn't a good fit.

We could just post the link and all you'd have to do is look under recent posts.

I just think it'd be a good idea since there are press conferences 5 days a week...and a lot of them go undiscussed or I'm sure are missed by fans.

That could also be another factor.

If Sanchez turns out to be the elite QB he is on pace to be, Schottenheimer may want to be his coodinator his whole career.

They'd have great chemistry...and are both young.

Schottenheimer will still be young enough after Sanchez retires to become a Head Coach.

He will want to be a part of this potential dynasty. (Rex, Sanchez, and company)

Do yourself a favor and start watching Westhoff's every week too if you're not already. He punked the Phins special teams pretty bad. Said Pats blocked punt was the exact same thing we did.

We're unlikely to lose a coach if we win the Super Bowl because most teams hire their new coaches before the Super Bowl is played, though they are allowed to interview at certain times, I think.
