Favre is going to be the deciding factor in this game. And I don't mean positively. Pressure him on every play and he'll do the same thing to the Vikings that he did to us when he threw 9 INTs in 4 games and blew up our entire season. This game is going to show how truly finished he is as a QB.
probably....... but I think Sanchez looking over his shoulder or trying to rush a pass if he gets popped a few times would have a greater impact on him than some mean naughty words
When the schedule came out I was absolutely sure this was a win. With how the jets are currently playing I was absolutely sure it was going to be a win. With how many times the jets have kicked me in the stomach by throwing away winnable games, I am just nervous.
So you are sure this is a win, and have been sure, but still are nervous. Then the fact is you are not sure.
I just want to see our offensive line do work against the Vikings line when we run the ball. Our 3 interior linemen are pretty strong, so I'm expecting a good match-up. Especially now since the team is playing with confidence.
Vikings usually show up to stop the run...as usual our success depends on Sanchez. Im interested to see how our run D handles AP we really havent faced an elite RB yet. Rice is good and we shut him down but hes no AP.
Things always gets like this around here when we're winning. You start to see the 15-1 threads and such. When you win 3 in a row, I guess the old cliche of "one game at a time" turns to dust.
Of course Rich Smarmy-ni just posted a story on his ESPN blog that Favre is 7 -1 in games coming of a bye. What is with some of these sportswriters? In the old days they'd pump your team up if they were on a roll. I like our chances against the Vikings especially with Sidney Rice out of the picture and our trio of Jets returning.
I'm worried about the Ray Edwards vs. Damien Woody matchup. I think Brick will handle Allen on the outside, Moore will do a nice job on one of the DTs and Mangold will help Slauson. The Vikings don't blitz much since they usually get good pressure from their defensive line.
Just like all games this will be won or lost at the line, I think this is a great test for our oline, but I think we'll get the bigger push their. We will definitely get pressure, Ellis is looking great so far, 3 sacks in 3.5 games. We get Pace back, plus Favre has been sacked 6 times in 3 games and they've faced NO, Miami, and Detroit. So we can without a doubt get to him, and our run defense looks better then last year so this will be AP's first real test, all other opponents rush D are ranked in the upper 20's. As long as we can protect Sanchez he should be fine, as a team they have 2 picks and both came against the Lions. The only way we lose this game is if we beat ourselves. Interesting matchup though because it seems like it's our strengths right now vs their strengths.
This game is gonna be won in the trenches, if the jets can stop the pass rush from the vikes this one is in the bag
