Tons of ESPN/Fox/Yahoo/NFLN Analysts were waiting for Mark Sanchez to have a 'sophomore slump' this year, or just suck ass. Many of these analysts popped up on television/blogs/sports-articles, and said "TOLD YA SO" after the week 1 loss to the Ravens. These Analysts also expected Mark to play like utter shit against the Patriots. Many of us did too...Mainly due to panic though. But this is what has happened. Mark Sanchez is the only starting quarterback in the league WHOM has NOT thrown an interception, or turned the ball over so far in 2010. -I didn't count Michael Vick in this, because he didn't start the year, and is probably out for a few weeks. -This number could be different though..He gave us a few scares @Miami. -Mark Sanchez currently leads the 13th best Offense in the NFL. Jets currently average 339.5 yards a game. -Currently averages 178 passing yards a game. -So far through four games Sanchez has a Quarterback rating of 105.3. That is 4th in the NFL, or 3rd. Vick is ranked 3rd(Count it if you want..Doesn't matter really) -Ranked 21st in passing yards, with 711yards by all quarterbacks. -Averaging 6.9 yards a pass/Ranked 16th(Right Behind Drew Brees at 15) -Tied for fourth place in Touchdown Passes with 8(Tied with Aaron Rodgers) -Sanchez has completed 9 passes of 20 yards or more, and completed 2 passes of 40 yards or more. -His longest touchdown throw of the year is for 67 yards. -Sanchez has been sacked 5 times(Ranked 7th with Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers) pretty cool shit.
I think TGG should be shut down. This is the second Mark Sanchez thread that all but guarantees he either throws 5 ints against the vikings or gets carted off (knock on wood). Maybe I'm the only superstitious one, but can we please stop jinxing the kid?
Can we please stop being such gigantic pussies? Like praising a QB on a message board has any effect on what happens during a football game.
how is stating what he's done to this point in the season jinxing him? Ususally that entails making extremely lofting predictions/"guarantees"
he is playing well..the passing ranks (yards/offense) are very overrated. We are 2nd in the NFL in rushing, we have played from ahead a lot, we throw to keep a solid balance and when the ball is in the air it is usually a very productive play -- move the chains or points on the board. Orton is on pace to throw for 6000 yards with 600 attempts...but they can't run out of a paper bag. Sanchez right now is one of the best quality and situational passers in the league through 4 games.
All the stats say that after the Ravens game Mark Sanchez has been a hyper-efficient game manager of a QB who is not afraid to stretch the field. He's been Bob Griese for the last 3 weeks and the Jets are undefeated. If he can keep that up we'll be very happy in early February.
Yeah, Sanchez hasn't thrown an int, and this was the best I could do to jinx him. Favre hasn't thrown an int against the Jets in that ugly purple jersey. I hope I jinx him too. Vikes are a good team and I hope I jinxed them again. Jets will lose the SB and I jinxed it again...wow.
It's funny last year Mark did pretty well in the 1st quarter of the season, it was in the 2nd & 3rd quarters where he had his issues, hopefully he will have put that behind him & have a VERY productive rest of the season this year & for years to come.
Brad Smith has the number 1 qb rating and has the highest completion % in football. Also averages a td per pass attempt
Our defense did better in the first 4 games, last year in his first 4 he threw 4 TD's, and 5 INT's. Was sacked 9 times, his pocket awareness is so much better now. He had a QB Rating of 73.45 Obviously had a rough patch through the middle of last year but since week 11 he's played better and better with a minor hiccup in week 15.
