I didn't really get a chance to hone in on Gholston, partially because we were up by alot and I wasn't particularly paying full attention to the game. But I was wondering if anyone watched him to see how he played/ if he is still improving. Any insight would be appreciated as I am excited here about his progression.
I recall seeing him getting a few pushes where the O-lineman was moving backward but didn't note any impact plays.
I saw Gholston lined up once yesterday. Late in the game. I don't remember seeing him at all last week. I haven't looked closely but I am a Gholston fan and not seeing him at all for two weeks is unnerving to say the least.
If we didn't see him or notice him it doesn't necessarily mean he didn't have an impact. Fitzpatrick was pressured all game, so I'm sure he had some part in that. Still, nothing that would warrant his draft position, but whatever.
I noticed one play Fitzpatrick was scrambling & Gholston was barely going after him?? No effort at all??
When Ellis went down he saw alot of playing time. Would of had his first sack but the rt held him and they called it. I was hoping he'd get his first sack. Pryce did exactly what's advertised he was pushing the middle a few times in Patricks face.
More appropriate question would be, how many snaps was Gholston 'part' of the last two games. Im sure we can count them with one hand each.
I wasn't paying close attention to Gholston, but I do remember one play where he almost shoved the right guard into Fitzpatrick who just chucked a pass down the right sideline.
You missed him then rewind your DVR or VHS to the 4th qtr he was there on the field quiet as a church mouse
Geez the guy would of had his first sack if not for the offensive holding call. He played well in Ellis absense, relax lol
By season's end, we'll know Vernon's fate. Especially if this team gets to the AFCCG or the SB. Since his contract makes him uncuttable and untradeable, does it really matter what impact Vern has or doesn't have as long as the defense is playing well overall?
he re-did his contract and took a pay cut. if he doesn't pan out we can cut him and save room for revis, brick and mangolds huge cap numbers and resign a few players in there last year (BE, holmes, cro, harris)
