If Smith keeps throwing TDs he'll definitely get consideration. OMG Sanchez would be the sickest backup ever.
Plus I haven't seen it mentioned, no frickin fumbles for Sanchize either, and that's also a 180 from last year. I do believe that what we are seeing is the real deal, from day 1 he has put the work in, and really did bust his but this off-season with the whole 'west coast camp'.
Plenty of fingers pointed to Schottenheimer of course. Since we've put together 3 divisional wins in a row, the old adage that "winning solves everything" rears it's tired head. But sometimes winning can lull a team into a state of complacency. Of course the coaches need to not let that attitude prevail. Let's stay hungry.
I think in the first game it had a lot to do with Shotty sending in 2 plays, and it was Shanchez job to 'kill' one play. From what I understand he asked Shotty to kick that after the game and since then he's been on fire. I think more impressive was the fact he did'nt turn in over in that 1st game!
I guess I am one of the only ones without a problem of chucking it to stretch the field. I don't think it was that big a deal. Schotty called a pretty good game. I think my only problem was passing the ball just prior to the missed FG........ WTF run a sweep to LT or something. The Bills couldn't stop it all day.
No, Rex said in pressers and interviews they were worried about B'more's D. They are 45-2 when BMore wins the TO battle. The played heavy conservative because of that. I'm with ya. I think the shots down the field were worthwhile. The W's are all I care about. Stats are meaningless unless you have Sanchez on your FF team.
Passing yards are overrated. A lot of QBs get a lot of yards in garbage situations. The most important stats are (a) TDs/INTS (b) 3rd down conversion % (c) Completion %. Yards are nice, but they don't really tell how effective a QB is.
Sanchez is beyond expectations for the first 4 games of his second year. Please though, no one on this board get mad if he has a bad game. This year he has done everything we've asked of him. If he throws 2 INTs next monday I hope no one jumps ship!
Was it just me or did you think on Sanchez's first pass down field to Braylon, was he not running full speed? It was overthrown but it looked like Braylon gave up on the ball. Damn I can't wait to see Holmes burn down the sideline. Even without Jet goggles I don't see how teams will stop us, Edwards, Cotch, Keller, Holmes, and LT all in the mix to cover. Personally I think it'll just make Keller even harder to cover and he'll benefit the most. Can't frigging wait!!
There was a series or two that had me scratching my head, but looking at the box score the Jets wound up rushing nearly two thirds of the time, which is right about where they should be against that pathetic Bills run D. I think the way the Jets offense is performing right now it's hard to be critical of the play calling. Last year on a similarly miserable day the split was 30 passes and 40 runs and that was an insane mix given the factors in play. So Sanchez is performing much better this year than last but Schotty chooses to keep the ball on the ground two thirds of the time because the Bills cannot stop the run. Good call, maybe Sanchez isn't the only one maturing in front of us.
I think sanchez will still throw 2 or more TDs next week with Holmes in the mix. If he does throw his 1st int of the season then w/e. Simply no one is perfect. But hell, this team offense right now is up their with the colts, texans, chargers, and tied with packers for scoring. Mix that with our defense and you have one hell of an equilibrium. Give opponents about 2tds a game and score about 28pts and you have one heck of a team. I think we can make it to the big game if we keep playing like this.

You have to keep the back 7 from bunching up tighter and tighter to the line. It makes it easier to run too!
Can't really blame Sanchez for week 1. Everyone has to remember we would've been 4-0right now if it wasn't for Greene's fumble. And that's undeniable.
Ever wonder what would have happened if we somehow managed to win that week 1 game. Like Schotty would still be mired in that shitty week 1 playcalling? Who knows but it's interesting to think about.
It's funny, I thought the same thing watching it but didn't post it in the game thread because I wasn't at the computer.
