Miami since we still head to Foxboro later in the season while we host Miami in the near future.

Better to have NE at 1-2 in the division and MIA 2-1.

Technically I am rooting for a tie. I think that's best. But if I have to pick a lesser of two evils, I will go with the Fins because they have to come to us in the 2nd game while we have to go to NE.

Either way, I don't think it matters. If the Jets play their game well, with Holmes, Pace and Revis coming back, we're the class of the AFC East anyways.

And it might be presumptive, but I'm actually looking at the teams we need to beat out for that first round bye...probably getting ahead of myself a bit there though.

On the other hand, if the Dolphins lose to the Pats at home having already lost to the Jets in Miami, they will be pretty much buried into 3rd place (unless they can go on the road and beat both teams at the end of the year.)

I'd prefer the tie as well but otherwise I'll go for the fish win as they still have to come to us.

Can somebody please enlighten me as to why a tie is a better outcome than one of these teams losing tomorrow night?

I mean, I can see why a tie could be good, but I don't think those reasons outweigh the reasons why it would be good if one of these teams loses on Monday night.

Of course, the odds of a tie happening are very, very slim anyway.

It's only Week 4 so it's too early to get that in depth with what matters, so why not root for a tie....since it'd be hilarious.

It's never too early in the NFL to be concerned about your division rivals' records. If the Jets finish tied with one of them at 11-5, the head-to-head matchups and division games will be used to break ties for W-L-T records.

I do agree, though, that tie games are cool. I like ties. I wish there were more of them. I hate that college football does not have ties anymore.

I hope both teams get struck with a severe case of total scrotal implosion

Would like to see Miami win, but they have moronic fans. Patriot's fans are assholes, but not complete dumbshits.

Patriots are sucking on the road this year, so any win they can get on the road isn't good for us.

Yeah I obviously wasn't downplaying the importance of divisional records.

Maybe technically a tie wouldn't be so great, but whatever any result in that game will be good, since one of them has to lose. (most likely...)

If Miami loses, our shot at the division title is slim to none. We have NYJ on the road in December as well as Foxborough in January... We needed to win last week. We HAVE to win this week.

I'm just rooting for lots of TDs by Welker and Ricky Williams. Need those fantasy points.

A tie would be by far the best result for the Jets in the matchup.

Even if they lost to Minnesota they'd be 3-0 in the division while the Dolphins and Patriots were both 1-1-1. That's a winning scenario when it comes to tiebreakers down the road.

It would not be by far the best result.

You're just wrong here. When you're ahead you want the people chasing you to not win games. By definition both of the teams chasing the Jets would not win a game in a tie.

If you want to magically prognosticate who the real threat is in the end and give that team the loss feel free too. I think a tie is where the Jets gain.
