Sad, hopefully he can make it next week. http://blog.newyorkjets.com/2010/10/02/pace-out-does-not-make-trip-to-buffalo/ Pace Out, Does Not Make Trip to Buffalo Posted by Eric Allen on October 2, 2010 – 4:54 pm Jets outside linebacker Calvin Pace did not travel with the team to Buffalo and has been downgraded to out for Sunday’s contest vs. the Bills. The Green & White had hoped Pace could play in some sub packages in the divisional battle. Pace, who led the club with eight sacks last season, suffered a broken foot in a preseason contest against the Washington Redskins. “We’ve got to see how he is. He did practice,” said Jets head coach Rex Ryan on Friday. “He did have some reps today in the team period, so we want to see how he comes back from that. That one could be a game timer to really see.”
Good, let him heal properly. I know this isn't the bye week but if he isn't ready to go why rush him back? Especially when the pass rush just got a boost, with a healthy player.
Honestly, I'd sit him next week too if not 100%.... That would mean an extra 3 weeks of rest. That said, i'd love it if he was 100% next week so he could smash Favre's fukin face in!
I'm glad he's been ruled completely out - the last thing I'd want to see is him re-injure it - we're going to need his ability to penetrate down the stretch. If he was going to be the difference between winning and loosing in buffalo, we've got bigger problems.
No reason to risk aggravating his injury. Don't play him until he's 100%. Same thing with Revis. Bottom line, the Jets were good enough to beat the Pat's and Dolphins on the road without them. They're certainly good enough to beat the Bills...
I agree let them rest. on another note I'm new to Vbook can some explain when the lines get posted. did'nt want to start a new thread. Thanks
Pace and Revis should both sit until after the bye. No point in reinjury in a year when the Jets have aspirations to be playing deep into January.
The season debut of Holmes, a potential season debut of Pace, and a potential return of Revis, on Monday Night Football, sounds kick ass to me.
I disagree. Get them back before the Bye. Still have Bills, Vikings and Broncos before it. No reason they can't get some game action before the BYE. Like someone just wrote, I expect all 3 (Pace, Revis, Holmes) back for Minnesota. Should be awesome!
Pace should be good to go by next Monday. Let him rest the foot one more week get him back at 100% and turn him loose against favre and the vikes.
Scares the shit out of me. I felt the same way before we played the Dolphins for the first time last season. Season went way south after that.
not needed for this one it's going to be a laugher Today's reports that the likes of Cimini, Buttle and Joe the Lush all said it was a big TRAP game make it a certain win for the Jets IMO Pace, Revis, on Defense and Holmes on offense all ready to roll against the washed up old wrangler when needed
The Bills are kinda scary in that they've been putting up some good fights like their game against the Pats. Add in the fact they are winless and have something to prove - an NFL victory is never a sure thing. The Bills lost to the Dolphins by 5 points, the Pats by 8 points and they got hammered by the Packers, but all those teams are not push overs. Still, I think Pace and Revis should wait and recover. I too can't wait for Holmes, Pace, and Revis to come back. Would be sweet if they all came back on the same day.
I have seen far too many players rush their returns only to get reinjured. We need Pace and Revis for the long haul. Heck, even a loss in Buffalo with the Pats playing MIA assures we would still be within a half game of the division. We need to be SURE to have them playing and healthy when we play MIA and NE the second time.
100% agreed. Even if it meant a loss now in exchange for wins late in the year including the playoffs.
I would feel better about this if Westerman was active, we are a little thin at OLB, it looks like Gholston is going to have to stand up and play, otherwise we will have to use more 4-3 sets rather then the 3-4.
