Omon fan here, trolling the forum....maybe I'll become a Jets fan. :)

Xavier was waived by Buffalo to make room for them to activate their #2 pick James Hardy, who was on IR. Hardy sucks, he's their 5th or 6th receiver now...but they spent big money on him, so he obviously has to stick around for a little while.

Jauron and company wanted to put Xavier on their PS, but he didn't clear waivers. Seattle picked him up for their PS, under head coach Jim Mora.

When Mora got the axe, and Pete Carroll took over with all his coaching staff, their new RB's coach (Sherman Smith) waived Xavier and brought in guys from Washington where he had been.

Long story short, Xavier's never had a really decent opportunity to prove anything. He was buried under Jackson and Lynch in Buffalo, and didn't get a chance in Seattle. Here's to hoping that he can benefit the Jets and be a solid RB. Honestly, he's just as good as Greene, maybe better. Who knows. Go JETS!

    Let's not get crazy.

Omon hasn't proved a thing in the NFL and wasn't playing for a Big Ten Team.

Northwest Missouri State isn't exactly Iowa.

Greene still has alot to prove, but saying Omon is just as good as Greene is ridiculous.

    Uh, what?

People are so quick to write off Greene after a slow start. When he breaks out, our offense has the potential of being lethal. Look out for Shonn Greene when the weather gets colder and the offense starts running the ball more.

Shonn Greene of the 2009 Playoffs is coming soon, watch.

Not writing Greene off in the least, I think he's a great back. My point is just that Omon is probably just as good. They have the exact same build and skill set, and when you look at their overall stats, saying Omon is as good as Greene is not rediculous.

Greene had less than 400 attempts in college for about 2300 yards. Omon had nearly 1000 attempts for over 7000. Greene has some nice NFL stats, because he got carries behind a decent o-line, and Omon does not. Overall though, Omon has played ALOT more than Greene has, and no matter where you play (D1, DII, DIII), carrying the rock is still experience.

I'm not dissing Greene in the least...I hope Omon gets the same chance Greene has had.

Nice, a HB on the roster that will push Greene, and who knows overtake him.
Best of luck to your man
