You act like he was holding out if he didn't get that contract, no team was paying him that amount after his injury. We had the hammer.
He wasn't going to take the offer the Jets had on the table. He got hurt. Keels was never going to back down from their asking price. Bye Leon. His market value, after this season, will dictate what he gets.
everybody wanted leon washington on this team-fact. it didnt look like he was going to return as the player he was after injury-fact. idk what the issue is... we got shit for leon. leon returned some kicks congrats i guess. i wish im the best. dunno what else there is to say.
We could have also traded other things for that 5th round pick (John Conner). Therefore, we gave away Leon for free. /junced
Slauson is a bust because he sometimes looks like he's not as good as Faneca. If Faneca were still on the team, Sanchez would have 14 TDs and zero sacks by now. BAD MOVE! BAD MOVE! /junced
If Leon was healthy, and still a Jet, and still as good as he used to be, and got playing time over Greene and LT, and played Monday Night, and made a play, we might have won. /junced
Did anyone even consider the fact that the metal rod in Leon's leg is probably making him BETTER??? /junc'd
Of course he was going to back down or his player wouldn't be getting paid at all. You are so pathetic. I love this, it's a nitwit convention w/ you guys. You are the guy telling us that unless leon, off the injury, got MJD money that he wasn't playing for us this year so we had to trade him.
We never found out what the Jets actually offered. Both sides spun as much as they could and in the end since no deal was consummated we don't know what the final offer that was made was.
It's a moot point anyway since even if the Jets and Leon agreed to a deal like that, they would have most certainly cut him as soon as he broke his leg. No player would be worth anything close to that after a horrific injury.
How Ironic would it be if on is first touch whether it's a PR, KR, or running play he takes it 70-80 yards to the house. There'd be about 5 best pick ever threads...lol
McKnight Bet for nyjunc We all know how junc feels about the Leon trade, and his obvious negativity towards Joe McKnight. Since McKnight looks to be making his pro debut this Sunday against Buffalo, I was wondering if anyone would like to get into a bet with junc. Leon averaged 2.7 YPC so far this season for the Seahawks, so if McKnight fares better than that this Sunday on however many carries he has, we can all say that the trade was at least fair. I'm certain we'll see at least that for McKnight, and I'm willing to bet a one week self ban on that. Junc?
Noticed this from the blurb Sanchise posted: Aside from just helping to prep the 1st team D, I'd imagine being forced to run the Wildcat provided the added benefit of forcing quicker decision making and helping to improve McKnight's vision on the field. Like I said before, when people were claiming that McKnight should be written off for the season and would contribute absolutely nothing this year, it's a long season. I expected him active by about mid-season. We're way ahead of that. I don't expect much as far as his play initially, but it's fantastic that he was able to turn things around this quickly in practice. That just has to translate to the game.
