He fundamentally despises the fact that Ryan is one helluva a good football coach and that the players love to play for him. if he actually came clean and admitted that he was a moron about the Jets and that he wanted to make his show fun and entertaining again...that might be a good start. Let me know if that ever happens.
He hasn't even said anything yet today. Considering his whole premise is bashing teams, I'm willing to bet he'll spend more time on the Giants this week.
Agree on that, but I think that's only half of it. The other half of his hatred is that his Giants aren't #1 in NYC anymore and the only team anyone talks about is the Jets. That just eats away at him and he can't stand it
Considering the Giants have been blown out two weeks in a row and the Jets have beaten two pretty good teams with their backs against the wall two weeks in a row what could he possibly rip the Jets for?
I think this is it, too. For years Mike's built his credibility around being Parcells' buddy and Parcells was revered as the great NY football coach. Now there's a new sheriff in town, a new popular fat guy who has no use for Francesa and he can't stand it. He was even the one who had Rex on when he made the famous "not here to kiss Belichick's rings" quote, but somehow since then Francesa has lost touch with the Jets completely.
How much do you want to bet that he makes the case that the Jets should have lost because the Jets should have benched Edwards for the entire game?
It is Francessa's own fault he has lost touch with the Jets. He chooses to routinely knock a team that was in the playoffs last year, looking for any little sliver to mock them about. The act got old, the fans got tired of the hate, the Jets got tired of the negativity, and thus, no more Jets on his show.
He'll say that the Jets got lucky because if Sanchez got picked when he threw it into the Dolphins player's chest, it would have been a TD. He'll say that Braylon shouldn't have danced. That it's disgraceful after all that happened. He'll say that the Jets are undisciplined because of what Braylon did and the penalties. He'll talk about the Jets secondary getting torched and that Cromartie isn't that good. He'll talk about all that for 2 hours, then the Yankees for 2 hours. The Giants for one hour. Random other things for the other half hour.
Yeah, definitely. He was banking on the Jets getting bounced from the playoffs quick and justifying his rant that they didn't belong. I also think the way the Giants and Jets respectively closed out Giants Stadium at that time really irked him, since he's so stuck on the old Giants/Parcells era. That last Sunday night game was like a passing of the torch of football relevance in New York and he couldn't come to grips with it, so he chose to go off the deep end regarding the Jets and that's where he is now.
I like that possibility, but my money's on "da Jets deefense was expozed lasst nite. No way dats a great deefense."
theres no way he is dumb enough, even for him, to say this. he has to acknowledge the fact that revis and pace were both out.
"offense and special teams bailed out the defense"....... tru but the entire tone of the intro has the usual edge against the jets. jil
I mean a TD is a TD, but the corner failed miserably on that play. I said this in the game thread last night, Braylon put the slowest spin move on the guy and the guy failed.
"Jets have to deal with consequence with Edwards, but that's over eith until the next jet gets in trouble" Very douchy to lead with this...
There's something just so wrong about the fact that I won't listen to Francesa himself but I'm trolling this thread to see your reactions to him.
