Just curious as to where the draftologists would rate Mallett, Luck, and Locker as QB prospects compared to the top NFL rookies now (Bradford, Clausen, Tebow), and the sophomore QBs (Sanchez, Freeman, Stafford).

If you're picking 1 QB right now to start your franchise with, how would you rank:
    Sanchez
    Stafford
    Freeman
    Bradford
    Clausen
    Tebow
    Luck
    Mallett
    Locker

I'm no expert when it comes to gauging college QB talent but I'd do:

    - Bradford
    - Stafford
    - Sanchez
    - Luck
    - Clausen
    - Mallett
    - Locker
    - Tebow

    My list would be...

-Sanchez- He has obviously shown that he can perform in big games.

-Luck- My favorite QB in this draft and has a ton of upside. Has star written all over him.

-Freeman- Ive been impressed with his improvements this year, I really didnt like him when he came out but he has slowly turned me into a believer.

-Stafford- Injuries hurt him. Would have been 2nd on list if not for the injuries.

-Mallet- I know he had a rocky day today, but I still believe he is more like Stafford than Jamarcus.

-Bradford- Still wouldnt have taken him No.1, but has been better than I expected. I still worry about his durability.

-Clausen- He will make his first start this week. I thought he was the most pro ready coming out and I think he will be a solid QB in the league, but nothing spectacular.

-Tebow- Like him more than most, but still has aways to go.

-Locker- Has looked horrible so far this year. He is a great athlete, but is not even close to a Tebow. He doesnt have the winning mentality or the leadership Tebow has. That and the threat he could leave at any moment for baseball is why he is last.

I'm not sure, but I think the OP wanted the list to be how they were projected on draft day, which means that anything they did in the NFL shouldn't count towards or against them.

    1. Bradford - I think he has a top 5 QB potential... I'm in love with him (footbally speaking!). If he remains healthy and they surround him with talent I think he can be the best QB in the league in 5 years...

    2. Stafford - Will be a very good NFL QB if he can stay healthy... and looking at the team (and the division) in which he plays it's a big if... get a franchise LT in there!!!

    3. Luck - Elite prospect... but he's still too unproven so we really have no idea what kind of pro he'll be.

    4. Clausen & Sanchez - To me they have the same potential... who will prevail between the two will depend from other factors other than their football talent. Sanchez is a better leader, Clausen understands the game a little better... but they have time to learn and solve their defects.

    5. Freeman - Good prospect... I'm confident he'll be a capable starter in this league.

    6. Tebow / Locker / Mallet - Still too many question marks... I'd be guessing instead of evaluating. Probably Mallet is the one with most upsideas a QB and then it's a toss-up between Tebow and Locker.

I feel like the first 6 guys will all have pretty good to elite careers in the NFL...

    Jimmy Clausen
    Mark Sanchez
    Andrew Luck
    Sam Bradford
    Tim Tebow
    Matthew Stafford
    Ryan Mallett
    Josh Freeman
    Jake Locker

I would have Stafford a little higher, but I have a bad feeling about his health. I just feel like he's always going to be injured.

Jimmy Clausen(Obvious as an ND fan who's seen just about every game of his I know what he can be in the next level so its a homer pick here)
Sanchez(Not going to say I was hyping him up but I liked him enough to know he was worth the trade up for NYJ and was apart of the cheering brigade when he became a Jet as opposed to some other posers. :rofl2:)
Locker(I am still on his bandwagon because I've loved him since Sophomore year and saw him put up 2 classics vs Clausen and the Irish in great QB bouts. I still think he can be a Brunell of JAX type of guy.)
Stafford(Not huge on the guy, still think Sanchez will be better. But then again I didn't see a whole lot on the guy so as a prospect out of Georgia, I won't BS and say he is god's gift to the heavens)
Bradford(Felt he was at best a Jake Delhomme of old type of guy although he may be better than that. Health scared me and while I liked him Jr year I soured on him a bit for Sr year when looking him as an NFL prospect)
    Luck
    Mallett
Tebow(I don't hate Tebow but I don't know if he will be a stud on the NFL level)
    Freeman

Luck and Mallett I am still trying to get more of so they could go up/down as the college season goes on. Same with Locker who is really letting me down this season...though I am hoping he is a Jay Cutler type of case of just being on a perrenial losing team.

    1. Luck- Best QB prospect since Palmer, will be an absolute stud unless his NFL team destroys him

    2. Stafford- I'm not sure he will ever realize his full potential stuck in Detroit but as far as tools and intangibles he is top notch

    3. Sanchez- His work ethic plus physical skills will make him a great one.

    4. Bradford- Tough situation in STL but has the talent and work ethic it takes to succeed in NFL.

    5. Mallett- Not convinced in him yet but in terms of physical talent he is in another stratosphere of the QB prospects below him.

    6. Freeman- Showing pretty good progress, I was one of the few that liked him as a prospect coming out of college.

    7. Clausen- Will be a career back up

    8. Tebow- Not an NFL QB

    9. Locker- Not an NFL QB

I'm going to do my best to rank them as I thought of them as prospects.

    1. Andrew Luck- He's really is an elite prospect, though if he goes pro after his Sophomore year some might call him that. If he stays for his Junior season he'll get Manning comparisons (prospect Manning, not now Manning).
    2. Matt Stafford- Missile arm and a great leader, I think he's done a great job putting energy into a downtrodden franchise.
    3. Ryan Mallett- Gets the nod because of his arm strength, still has some ways to go but will face similar college offense knocks to Sanchez.
    4. Mark Sanchez- There was a good deal of questions about him coming out, specifically his limited starting experience, but apparently was ready to go.
    5. Sam Bradford- Went #1, sure, but the injury problems and the questions about how his shoulder would respond made it anything but a no-brainer.
    6. Jimmy Clausen- Not his biggest fan, but I figured he'd be at least an OK professional QB. I think a lot of his attitude issues were really overblown.
    7. Josh Freeman- Was overrated at the time, but has actually not been that bad. One thing he did possess was tools.
    8. Jake Locker- He has a chance, but it's more of a 4th round, developmental chance than anything else.
    9. Tim Tebow- No shot, the hype train before the draft was just that.
