I'm 22 and obviously never saw the guy play live. I have read enough and seen enough video to respect what he did for the franchise and for the game. Say what you want about him now but he was the driving force behind changing people's perception of the AFL. I don't think it's unfair to say that without Namath the game as we know it today would not exist.
