Joe Namath taking issue with Jets players for not being the 'sharpest folks, mentality-wise' is fucking rich. Seriously Joe? That was YOU!

While he might be right, it's pretty funny coming from him. Why don't we watch 'America's Game' and see what Gerry Philbin thought of your mental focus, Joe.

Imagine if the Jets took a hard line stance against partying and drinking too much when Joe was playing. Love the guy but he is just as bad as high horse posters we have here.

Hmmm, wonder what Woody and the FO was thinking while you were slobbering and drooling all over Suzy on TV while drunk?

Namath, just shut the fuck up.

Are you in the locker room? I think not. Pouha was on the radio this week and said practices were going well and he didn't have time to think about "distractions" and said the team is fine.

And he is in the locker room.

Props to 17a for seeing this coming sooner than me.

Shut the fuck up, Joe. I want to hear Joe Namath preach about focus and discipline about as much as a Giants fan wants to hear Lawrence Taylor preach about sobriety and chastity.

ADDED: If the anecdotal evidence in "America's Game" is to be believed, Namath's Jets organization responded to his partying by making him a team captain.

A win this week and everything goes away. It's the same old story. No one's talking about the offensive woes of last week. Let's just get it done and everybody will be talking about how we're going to win the divsion. I'm sick of all the pointless chatter in-between games and Broadway Joe needs to just shut up.

I don't know that Giants fans would mind that. You gotta call him LT though I know they hate it when you don't.

I love Joe but as the guy who used to turn up drunk on gameday he should shut his trap.

As long as the Jets are steamrolling teams like they did the Patriots last week, I don't really care what happens off the field. Hell, it wouldn't be the first time or the last time a team has won something with a bunch of scumbags on the team.

And he's absolutely right imo. What's the point of sitting him for a series or 2? It accomplishes nothing and sends no message. But of course anyone who says something that isn't giving head to the Jets is an idiot and is wrong on this board, or people find some pointless excuse to whine about. Predictable.

When Joe played there basically was no such thing. My Dad was an NYC cop. Cops back then took keys and drove people home......It was a completely different era.

Can someone ask Joe Namath's liver what it thinks?

I wasn't talking about just the Jets, but rather any professional sports team. Look at the 86 Mets for example.
