Quite an excellent point here. People are putting way too much emphasis on Rex's influence or lack thereof. We all need to keep in mind that Rex is a year removed from being a rookie head coach, meaning he will make mistakes and learn from them. Coaches go through growing pains in different ways. Mangini couldn't manage a game to save his life but I'm sure he has gotten better at it in Cleveland (just guessing, never seen a Mangini coached game after he left...) Back to the original point in the quote above...there is only so much a coach can do becase players ultimately are going to do what they want. They need to lay off Rex...didn't people watch Hard Knocks??? The whole coaching staff is not laid back like Rex. Westhoff is a hard ass, Tannenbaum doesn't mess around and we can also list more names but the notion about it starts off at the top is being way overblown.
On another note...a caller on 1050 made me laugh my ass off yesterday. he was talking about how Woody grew up with a silver spoon hanging around with nerds his whole life. Now he's surrounded by Rex and the "cool kids" and Woody feels like he's the shit. I was laughing so hard.
