When a Union comes out and says they won't stick up for a member, I would consider that a really fucking weak union. I highly doubt the NFLPA ever came out and said this.

Mike said that Gary Meyers in the NYDN said it. The article isn't loading for me but it is here:

an official states...no way the union allows a player to get benched for a disciplinary reason and doesn't raise an issue about it. Going forward what is the point of having a rule in place? Say a guy is arrested for something...gets suspended...the union doesn't fight it..the guy is proven to be innocent 10 months later...how is that made up to the player??

People are acting like this is the first time a player has had a run in with the law and played the same week or even the entire season. Why is it the responsibility of the Jets to be the moral example setters for the entire league?

What BE did was dumb and it was unfortunate, but this media coverage has been blown so far out of proportion it's almost surreal. I can't listen to another second of it. Even 1050 has been guilty of it.

Schwarz said the Jets backtracked, now they finally admitted to him we couldn't deactivate or suspend Edwards and they're 'concerned' that not playing him will raise the NFLPA's ire.

This whole thing makes me sick because the Jets are just making Francesa look good and themselves so bad with their attempted hiding of the fact they didn't want to suspend Edwards.

The Jets should have just manned up from the start and either said we're deactivating him and it's not the NFLPA's business why or we're not deactivating him because it's not required and teams haven't deactivated players for DWI's in the past.

Damn, I tried getting on today, really wish I could've. Basically I would have said:

Why would you sit your star reciever for a tough division road game if you don't have to? Other players, one of them on the dolphins, got DWI's and have started every game with no punishment from the team. Why expect the Jets to sit their best reciever against a tough defense, and an important game that could very well have playoff implications down the road? This division always comes down to the wire, usually one game, so why would the Jets not dress their 11 best players on offense if they could? The Jets aren't setting a precendent by playing Edwards, they're just doing what every other team does.

Bottomline is you don't bench your star reciever when playing a game like this. Braylon's job is to catch balls, not be a model citizen. Let the league and justice system handle him, but the Jets need him to play.

I would have been cut off at the word go, but fuck this fatass, I'm so sick of hearing him on this story.

This is classic... you can hear him stewing in his juices the very 1st question that Peter is answering.

I love how Fatty keeps asking the same question and Peter keeps going in circles. The guy has explained it to him multiple times.

"Mike This is what the Jets are telling me"

    "Get me da union chief!!!"

His hate of the Jets is so funny. It's amazing. He has taken his vendetta to a whole new level.

I love how his story changed halfway through from "They can take away his uniform" to "I'm not sure what the rule is on that"

I seriously wonder what Fatty would say if the Jets did come out and say we're playing him because they wanted to win.

Again why does Mike not rip the Giants for McKenzie? How about the Phins and they're two DWI's? Didn't one of them get into an accident?

Im out in St. Louis on business. The ESPN radio guys out here opened their show by saying this "Im done talking about Braylon Edwards...this isnt WFAN in NY."

    Made me laugh a bit.

Thats what they should say. We are playing BrayLo because we think its more important to give our team the best chance of success than it is to enforce team rules on about what kind of behavior is acceptable. What BrayLo did was unacceptable however, losing to the phins is more unacceptable. That is what they should say.

That's a great press release statement

"The Jets are all about winning football games and losing one to the Dolphins is worse than drunk driving...just sayin'..."

This is one of the best non-tgg rants ever on Fatcessa. It was someone who posted a reply on Florio's anti-jets website profootball.com. It was posted in Jets-Fins game injury list isn't long, but it has some big names link.

    # jimmys79 says: September 23, 2010 8:03 PM

Francessa has spent 2 days on this edwards crap. It's obvious he hates the jets and won't even let you finish your call if you call him out on it. He hasn't gone this crazy since he found out more people listen to boomer and carton than him. Way to go on turning your NY sports talk radio show into an oprah winfrey dui stories show. Fat franny spent 10 minutes on his friend lawrence taylors arrest for rape on a 17 year old girl but somehow this is far worse. You would think his show was broadcasting from new england when it comes to jets topics. The funny thing is not how francessa can't even pronounce his own name the funny thing is he doesn't even have the balls to admit he hates the jets organization and Tanny cause Tanny won't do his show. I can't wait till this sniffling whining baby moves his show over to 101.5. Then it won't piss us sports fans off who actually tune into listen to sports rather than frannys opinions on everything except sports. Franny is so perfect He without a doubt has NEVA EVA known anyone who has driven drunk. Then after the jets beat miami on sunday his fat ass will be on nbc with that stupid smirk on his face like he got into the cookie jar and noone found out yet...We know about the cookie jar mike...Here's an idea takr 2 weeks off and quit.

One hell of a burn to Fatso on Mike'd up.
