the fuck? there are different levels of skill.....not levels of "shutdown" cornerback. Revis is elite level.....he's up there with Asomugha, Bailey (in his prime), and I would say Deion Sanders in terms of skill. Cromartie is damn good...is he shutdown? that remains to be seen....he played Moss pretty good last week. He's just not as physical as Revis. Revis has the complete skillset.
Great to know. Try going for a 4 man rush on every play and LT will be staring at the secondary. Im sure 6 men can do a good job blocking 4 defenders. LT can block on passing plays. Your 4 men rush will be handled nicely.
In order for the Jets to play the same way they would normally play, they will have to leave Cromartie alone on an island with Marshall. If they give Cromartie safety help then they won't be able to stack the box. So either Marshall beats you or Ronnie/Ricky do.
There is no such thing as "shutdown" corner. Even 1 catch allowed removes u from that category, so its not realistic. Realistically shutdown corner means one who can keep the WR in check. Revis dominates that category, while Cromartie dominated it against Moss, shutting him down completely in the 2nd half. Thats shutdown performance, just not a shutdown corner yet. WTF???
I don't know, maybe because we've beaten you the last 3 times we've played a game against each other.
I'm quite comfortable with Cromartie covering Marshall..... As far as 2/3 of Bell Biv Devoe having their way with our Defense....I'm not worried about that shit either.....Ricky has fumbleitis, and Ronnie is a piece of glass awaiting his annual trip to the IR.
I love his kind of logic, like they are unstoppable.....yes the phins have shown to be an offensive juggernaut thus far, how many points have they scored on offense again?
No Einstein. The way the Jets D is set up is, they would put the best WR on an island with Revis, and send safety help to the 2nd WR/CB. Dolphins have Bess and Harline as 2nd/3rd WRs. Nothing scary. Jets can put Cro and safety on Marshall and leave Hartline on Wilson island (for the day) if they want to send the second safety to say hi to Henne.
uh okay... we had a defensive collapse the first game, and second a special teams collapse congrats on your 7-9 season.
I guess by this logic we can all say that the Patriots defense was really just terrible, and the real Jets offense is the one that showed up against the Ravens.
irrelevant. What about the 9 year sweep before that. And we had some shitty teams and still pulled out wins.
If you think the Jets defense is simply based around a single corner taking one guy out of the game your gonna be in for a rude awakening sunday. people seem to forget that Rex had plenty of dominating defenses before Revis.
really?....your logic states that Tedy Bruschi and his HOF credentials should've been the difference maker in that game.
