Jets activate WR Pat Turner from the PS for this weekend. Who the hell is Pat Turner? And who had to go to create a spot? Its on Manish twitter.
It could be a dead heat this year. Don came on strong recently, while Soxxx has not been as bad in the last month.
To Quote Pulp Fiction, that is a lot of motherfucking if's. To explain myself and why I think you and everyone else that all of a sudden hate Revis are full of crap, let me backtrack the current argument............ I think it is within the Jets right to dump players when they outlive their usefulness, get injured, become a detriment to the team, suck etc. etc. I think that is ok, as long as it is done with in the boundaries of the contracts the players signed and the rules of the NFL. Therefore, I would be a complete hypocrite to say it is not within the players right to holdout for more money when he outplays his contract or has a year left etc. etc. Do I like this system? Fuck No. I don't like it either way and I think something can be done more equitably for everyone. However, this is the system and game the players and management created. It sucks but it is, what it is. So that brings us to Revis........ He held out for more money because it was the general opinion of anyone with a pulse he outplayed his contract. You know what? That was a business decision on his part. Did I like it? Nope not one bit. I have moved on. You and I both know, if the shoe was on the other foot and Revis sucked, was injured etc.etc., the Jets would do anything possible to get rid of him. I am pretty sure that you and I would understand the Jets decision, and to varying degrees be fine with it. I think it was completely idiotic, on both sides part, that this deal was not done in June. Why did I move on? When Revis is actually in camp and/or on the field he gives 150%. He is not a diva, pussy CB that covers the WR and does nothing else. He is the best Jets player that I can recall. I am separating the business side from the playing side. It is of my opinion he didn't hurt the team by holding out. Revis had a history on hamstring problems. Who is to say he doesn't hurt it anyway and has to miss 3 weeks? It's an injury, that happens all the time in the NFL. As far as him not being in shape, well sure he wasn't in pure game shape, that is obvious. No matter how hard he trained he could not simulate game conditions. Again, this goes back to what I said above. The holdout thing works both ways. He did what he could to stay in shape. It was both sides fault that this contract squabble lasted too long. As far as not being on Boldin, that was Rex's decision. He looked to me, like he was perfectly capable of covering him if asked. Basically, we agree to disagree. I was somewhat neutral during most of the contract mess. As it got closer to the end, if I had to pick a side it certainly wasn't Revis's. I would have thought Jets fans would have moved on from the contract BS. I guess not.
I agree with this sentiment totally. It's not that the players have to go out of their way to be angels. By and large all they have to do is stay out of trouble and the fans are happy. However, when this type of stuff starts to pile up there will be a percentage of fans (probably the more casual fans) that will decide to stop watching the NFL and that will hurt everybody. The scrutiny comes with the territory - just like the big bucks.
Brandon Funston of Yahoo Sports - Sources tell me Braylon Edwards has been released by the #Jets. Cotchery and Holmes value skyrocket. #FantasyFootball
Nice post, and I generally agree. Especially on the moving on part. But... I don't know exactly what Revis said about Edwards. But I do think Revis should shut the F up, come back when he can and play ball. That about covers it.
I believe Hobbes hates Revis for political reasons. You know, taking the corporation's side over the individual. that sort of thing. Call me crazy.
I don't have to use if's, I can use absolutes like you did. Revis hurt the team because he wasn't covering Boldin all game. See how that works. Revis said himself the holdout caused the injury. So now let's see what happens while Revis is out injured. I've explained many times why Revis is a douchebag. I was all for him getting his money and had no problem with the holdout until it went beyond the point of him just getting his money and to the point where it hurt the Jets. There's no need for you to explain the business side of things to me. I'm well aware of all that and basically made the same post when the holdout began. He took it too far. Now rather than using IF's, because you don't like them, I'll just speak in absolutes, because they're better. Revis holding out too long did hurt the Jets. Anyone who says otherwise is not looking at the facts. Keep sticking your head in the sand so you can defend your hero. It's the "smart" way.
You are implicitly assuming without facts that it was entirely Revis's fault that the holdout was not resolved earlier. It takes two to negotiate, and the Jets did move off their original stand. Why did they not do so earlier? I am just saying you are reaching to suggest this was all Revis's fault. Even if you are right it hurt the team, which is debatable, on the point of responsibility, why do you let the FO off?
This has been covered Ad nauseam. Go back and read the revis hold out thread. I'm not going over it again. This is to discuss our most recent douchebag.
Source link?????? -- Jets Likely to Re-Sign Santonio Holmes, but not Braylon Edwards -- Tue Sep 21, 2010 New York Daily News' Manish Mehta thinks the Jets will re-sign WR Santonio Holmes but not WR Braylon Edwards for the 2011 season.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ors-fly-of-braylon-edwards-impending-release/ It interesting to see a worm out a fraud.
because at the end of the day, Revis got what the F.O. offered all along. The Nnamdi factor was ridiculous from the beginning.
He isn't my hero and my head isn't in any sand. It's cool I act like a DB here so I can understand when someone else, you, acts like a total DB during an argument. ( I am at work or I can assure you, mod or not I would call you this outright, if I was at home.)
