Terrible manager. There's no reason for the Mets to not hire Bobby V, unless of course they're hiring LaRussa, which is not necessarily a good thing.

If the Mets want to absolutely destroy the arm/career of any of their young bullpen arms, they should absolutely hire Torre. If they want to win, find a guy who can get the most out of the cheap roster we're likely to see next season. To me that's Bobby V.

Torre apologized the other day to Jerry Manuel, saying he didn't mean to start up any rumors when Manuel is still the manager. Torre went on to say that he does not want to manage the Mets now.

How dare you write that about Joe Torre!!!

    The man is a saint.

Also, there's a problem. He couldn't take the Mets job. His brain is too big now. Torre would not be able to get through the various Citi Field entrances and doors for Mets players and managers. You see, he got real smart in the late 1990s and his brain is huge now. The man is a true genius.

I cannot wait till he dies. His brain is going to be displayed in The Smithsonian in The Genius Wing. Phil Jackson's brain is going to be the other sports figure brain in that wing.

how have his last two years not been resume builders in LA? he had the NL's best record just last year and made the NLCS. how is that not a resume builder? that, and he has only been the Dodgers Manager for three seasons. the first year he made the NLCS, the second he had the NL's best record and made the NLCS, and this year they are down, but it is rather difficult in baseball to maintain that consistency year in and year out.

This. The underlying problem is the Wilpons. No matter who our GM or our manager is, as long as Fred and Jeff still own the Mets, they're going to continually place the wrong ppl in charge and power, as well as give their own dumb, worthless input on potential moves.

I was actually thinking the same thing. It's not his fault this year the Dodgers were more dysfuctional than the Mets.
