I wanted to agree with you on Sunday night but after thinking on it for a bit I really feel like this loss seems so much worse because it was the first game of the season and because expectations hit such a critical mass that the balloon essentially exploded with this letdown. Putting the game in perspective, the Jets are not a dominant team and have a LONG way to go if they want to be a true Super Bowl contender. With that said, in a few weeks we'll be getting Santonio Holmes and Calvin Pace back, arguably two of the better / best players on this team. The defensive front 7 is still nasty and the defense in general will hold opposing offenses to low scores. The offense put up a record setting inept performance last week... we know from last season that they are better than that. Even if the Jets lose this weekend, I think that overall the ship will get back on course. I'm also thankful that this happened this early in the season and not later on when more was on the line. It seems the Jets needed this wake up call so they could get down to business.
Dude The Ravens have an awesome D. We knew they werent gonna roll over they wanted to give us some hard knocks. But The Jets will Get them if they meet in the PO's.
Whoever posted this during last week at the height of all that doom and gloom must be a really smart person who understands that a 1 pt loss in week 1 is hardly a reason for everybody to suddenly freak out and start leaping off the bandwagon.... I wonder who this brilliant football savant could be....
That's where I disagree. I don't think the Ravens are a better team. Not in week one and not in week two. It was an ugly loss...one that should not have occurred. Look at the game stats. I just want the Jets to play to their talent level.
