i say, do anything you want as long as you don't hurt anyone else. but drinking and driving is not acceptable. sorry. i want the jets to have the best team possible on the field, but this is not how it should be.

A fine/donation/sit down meeting to discuss his antics will be enough.

I agree with the decision to strong consider benching him. I do not agree with actually bench him though.

a Fine , Probation and Not being in the "Starting" lineup for 2 games....

I woulda picked that if it were an option...so I picked benched for 1 game.

    If the headlines woulda read:

Edwards Kills Passenger-SUV tipped over while Driving Drunk.

No one here would've been defending him.
Him getting caught may have been the best thing to happen last night

I hope not since the "pasanger" was D'Brick. I would fine him 2 game checks since the NFL can't suspend him for a 1st offense and we got only 2-3 WRs left if he is gone: Cotch, Clowney, & an injured Smith.

Didn't read the thread, but if Miami will suspend R Brown and J Allen for their pending DWI's, then we could do it to Edwards. Screw setting an example, this game is too important to the TEAM.

So what you're saying is it's OK to break the law so long as it's not during the season. The timing sucks but that's a bullshit argument.

So you can only suspend a guy if it happened now?

Yet one of your arguments is what Braylon did in the past.

He really looked like he did not care last week...

Braylon Edwards needs to be severely reprimanded and fined but, benching hurts the team. Edwards has already hurt the team enough with his moronic behavior. We need him this weekend against the Fins.

    What about Miami?

Miami's lack of discipline or integrity should have no bearing on how the Jets run their organization.

Frankly, I think that driving drunk in New York City is totally unacceptable. You're a millionaire, take a fucking cab.

You have said that twice already. It is a silly statement. Drunk driving ANYWHERE is unacceptable.

    Why should he mention it?

Brown's issue has nothing to do with the Jets.

Take the green Jets goggles off.

Edwards drove drunk. He can sit the fuck out on Sunday night. This nonsense cannot be tolerated.

Maybe he could mention it and other instances like it to illustrate just how much of a detriment that kind of behavior has become. But that would hurt his cause for outrage when the Jets predictably do not suspend Edwards, because it would mitigate the anger he's trying to get focused on the Jets.

If Cimini wanted to be objective about it, he'd bring those other examples up, but he's doing nothing other than a set-up job to rile up the Jets faithful. Because his target audience member is an angry Jets fan. Contentment breeds complacency. Anger breeds website hits.
