If Edwards doesn't play on Sunday, does anyone see them letting Wilson return kicks/punts the whole game since Smith will most likely be needed to play receiver due to the lack of depth?
Wilson should focus on covering receivers this week especially if Revis is out/playing limited time. Cromartie should take care of Marshall if that is the case, but I am sure they will try to get the Wilson-Marshall matchup at least once and take advantage of it
I just don't see the Jets risking an injury to Smith having him return kicks if they only have 4 receivers dress and one of them is named Clowney.
edwards is most likely going to play. they might sit him early for disciplinary actions as a team but the league will not be suspending him since this is an issue that falls under substance abuse program guidelines and for that, its his first offense.
I really want to see Shonn Greene get involved this week. I know LT is a better receiver, but Greene was running HARD vs. the Pats. I guess they're doing the same thing to him as they did with Jones. They arent playing him so he runs with purpose. I really want to see him get more touches because he is a TANK!!!
I read a stat somewhere that when Marshall matched up with Cro when they were both with their former teams, Marshall absolutely DOMINATED Cromartie. I hope that's not the case this week or we're gonna have to start double teaming Marshall if he starts to have a big game...
That stat was way off, it was a zone defense, when Cro actually plated Man on him he only caught 5 or 6 passes for about 50 yards and 0 TD's.
I would hope that Marshall is double-teamed from the onset. Force Bess and Fasano to beat you in the passing game, don't even give Marshall the chance.
Agreed Cro and Pool both on Marshall all day. Their other recievers are not game changers, and it looks like no one can run on this D. This one is in the bag if we go over 10 points.
I seriously doubt Edwards doesn't play. If he were out, though, with Revis out I'd say it's possible McKnight is active and gets his arms slathered with rubber cement before returns.
Hilarious. Might as well let Leonard return kicks because at least he can catch the ball. The inability of the returner to field kicks cost the 49ers the game last night. Sunday's game will most likely be low scoring so I don't think the jets would put a turnover liability like McKnight in there.
According to the New York Post, Jets coach Rex Ryan is "so infuriated" at Braylon Edwards' DWI arrest that he is "strongly considering" benching the receiver in Week 3.
