No way. Why should the team and fans pay for his actions?

As soon as the Fins announce they're sitting all their players who were arrested this season the Jets should announce they're sitting Edwards. Until then, he plays.

Fuck no. if an alcohol incident was worthy of a suspension the league should have negotiated that into their policy. and if it isn't worthy of a league punishment it isn't worthy of a team punishment.

what they should do is fine him a game check and have him donate it to MADD or something like that. now you have him do something socially positive for a stupid mistake and the league and team looks like it cares.

    No.

This is a legal matter and will be handled by the justice system. If the league is in no position to suspend him, due to the provisions for substance abuse in the CBA, then the Jets should not do so either.

Braylon will have to face the judge, likely sometime next year, and will have to deal with whatever punishment he is given. The Jets may be embarrassed by his conduct, but I haven't seen other teams suspend players for the same infractions (at least not the first time), so I don't see why the Jets should be held to a higher standard.

DWI is, obviously, a very serious crime. However, the appropriate forum to mete out punishment for it is in court.

The NFL will punish him. Let him play. If the Jets want to send a message, make him donate his paycheck to a drunk driving awareness group.
