I agree with most of that, except sitting BE. That hurts the team and the fans as well. I'd make him sit an alcohol programme and do community service. Its BEs problem, not ours.
The event ended at 9:30 pm. I'm sure he went out after that if he get arrested this morning. http://www.cotcheryfoundation.com/pdf/sponsorship_brochure4.pdf
Just like most others, as a fan I WANT HIM out their. As an outsider he should be inactive, if for nothing else to show the rest of the league what that the Jets organization is a class act. I'm torn on the subject, it was a victim-less crime in this case but it would've just taken another walking drunk to make this a manslaughter charge.
If you're going to play Big Daddy and go down to play the Miami Penetentary team full of dudes with DUI's then Freaking just Cut the Guy!!!!!
Yeah that was my point, you'd think after a charity event all the players might be out together and limo up or something. Another thing incarcerated Bob is saying is that there were 4 people in the car not 2. I hope to god it was not 3 other Jets.
Are you 100% sure he's still on probation? If so, that's very bad for Braylon. The NFL's Substance Abuse Policy gives an automatic 4-game suspension IF the player is already in the program (ie: has a prior offense of some kind). If not (and we don't know, due to privacy rights, if Edwards was already in it), there's a chance - based on the letter of the NFL law - he'll get off without one. But... IMO, Goodell is absolutely going to suspend him (at least). This will fall under the personal conduct thing. Remember, Roethlisberger was never charged with any crime, in two separate cases. I don't know how else this could possibly play out. And if you think Edwards' two taunting episodes from Sunday were cute... well, I'm sure that's not going to help him with the Commish right now. With everything going on with the Jets, including the whole episode with the hot female reporter, Goodell is gonna send a message on this one. Unfortunately Edwards gave him the perfect opportunity.
The funny thing about this is if this were Brandon Marshall or Randy Moss, there wouldn't be a person in here defending their actions and arguing against a suspension.
He's legally on probation NOT with the NFL. The other charge was not substance abuse related. He was on probation due to violence nothing substance abuse related. AGAIN legally, NOT with the NFL.
There's no right answer to this... If the Jets suspend him, they're hurting themselves for obvious reasons. If they don't, it looks like the Jets are taking this as a joke.
So if you're on probation and you get arrested on a different charge, you're still violating the terms of your probation, no?
Thats because they are both assholes and not Jets. Seriously, no one got hurt and he needs to learn from it and all move on, whoever this happens too. BUT he needs to realise how serious it is and could have been , crush his fucking car.
They've had real trouble with the league before. Braylon didn't get suspended for punching LeBron's friend and really the only crime he committed there was not punching LeBron instead. I'm kidding, but if Marshall or Moss had been busted for DWI it'd be a different situation. Moss is in the league substance abuse program already I think and Marshall's been arrested multiple times in the past.
I just want to know if he'll be able to play on Sunday or not. I don't really care how the league punishes him individually.
About Legal matters and how a suspension won't come down too quick if any. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/feed/2010-09/braylons-dwi
