You are talking about collective guilt. I can understand that up to a point when it comes to behavior on the field.

But making someone who did something on their own time an example because of discipline problems on the field is a risky business, if you ask me.

For example, I am certain this had more to do with Edwards partying to celebrate the win, and nothing to do with some perception that Ryan would hate it less than, say, Tom Coughlin.

    I don't see the connection.

I also don't think the Jets have an atypical amount of off the field problems. I DO think they have shown discipline problems with penalties and such. Those should be dealt with directly.

And if htey are not dealt with directly, I don't think suspending Edwards sends an effective message to the team.

I'm sick of the morons here who keep posting his tweets as if he was actually relevant or accurate.

maybe we need to hear felonious frank's opinion on this? maybe convict Carl can chime in also

Dear God man, it's a LEGAL ISSUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not a team issue.

I do not advocate drunk driving or drunk dialing for that matter but he will be dealt with in the courts.

Let's say The Great American is driving drunk and gets arrested for DUI.

Should his job as the fluffer for GayPorn Studios be in jeopardy?

NO, the courts would deal with him just as the courts will deal with Braylon.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets announce today that Braylon will not start this weekend and will readdress the situation after the investigation, then bench him the first offensive series and let him play the rest of the game. This way, they show that they are taking action without committing to suspending him. They can wait until this all blows over saying they are "investigating" the matter and then do nothing.

There once was a time in England where many crimes were enough to lead to the death penalty.

There was still crime, and for most that time is not looked upon fondly.

I understand the frustration with crime and that bad things happen in the world. But there's only so much that can reasonably be done before you start coming up with crime prevention programs that are worse than the crimes themselves.

Edwards did not hit anyone. He will be subject to the law. The law does not requre that he be suspended.

    People need to chill.

I am sure most of us are angry this happened, and Edwards deserves some puinishment. But we need to be reasonable and calm about it.

If they don't have him this week against Miami.. it's going to severely limit what Sanchez is going to be able to do. We will be counting on David Clowney to play a major role, and that's never a good thing. I wonder if Coles will be signed.

I apologize. I must have misunderstood. I was just pointing out that's what most people are saying here.

There going to have a lot of trouble against the Dolphins if Braylon Edwards is out. His presence on the field opens it up for other players to make plays.

It doesn't matter if he hit someone or not. He put others lives at risk by driving drunk. It's not being sanctimonious, it's being reasonable. Had you ever been seriously hurt in an accident caused by someone else's selfishness and stupidity, you'd feel the same. What he did was totally fucking selfish, stupid, and wrong, and he deserves whatever he gets.

Personally, I'm tired of Edwards. His mind isn't on football or the Jets, but himself. One good game as a Jet doesn't change that. I'll be glad when the Jets shed themselves of this deadweight.

How would they even know to check for DUI? Slurred, incoherent speech and erratic behavior would be standard practice where he comes from.

THANK YOU. Christ. Some people look at his tweets like they are infallible truth. He's like Jose Canseco without any discernible skill.

Uh Canseco was pretty much right on the money. Not a good comparison.

hahaha seriously.. trying to discredit someone else by comparing him to a guy who was 100% accurate and exposed the whole steroid thing is not a smart move.
