Incarcerated Bob, who is not a beat reporter or an expert but who was the first to break the Revis signing just posted this on his twitter, take it for what its worth: incarceratedbob **BREAKING JETS NEWS** Darelle Revis has a grade 2 Hamstring Tear he will be gone for at least 3-5 weeks. This is not good news but expected
So if this is true then he would be out at most for Dolphins, Bills, Vikings, Broncos, BYE weeks Its not worst case scenario but we really need him...Its never easy
I don't think there's such a thing as a grade two "tear". Grades one and two are strains, grade three is a tear.
If this rumor is pure bullshit (we will know more tomorrow I swear I'll ban the next person who posts any "news" from this guy....maybe. I'm still waiting for him to be right about something...
http://www.lollylegs.com/injuries/hamstring_grading.aspx Grade 2: is a moderate strain, with a definite loss in strength. What does it feel like? Probably cannot walk properly May get occasional sudden twinges of pain during activity May notice swelling Pressing in causes pain Bending the knee against resistance causes pain Might be unable to fully straighten the knee What can the athlete do? Ice, compress, elevate, use crutches for 3 to 5 days See a sports injury specialist who can advise on rehabilitation What can a Sports Injury Specialist or Doctor do? Use sports massage techniques to speed up recovery (very important) Use ultrasound and electrical stimulation Prescribe a rehabilitation programme including stretching and strengthening exercises Recovery time? About 3 to 6 weeks depending on severity and if middle of muscle or at tendon joint
I guess most of us expected this was likely to happen after the holdout. I'm just glad it's not a tear.
If I keep making shit up all the time, I'm bound to get a few right, too. I'll wait until this guy makes good on his retarded 3-three way trade and grade-whatever hamstring predictions, then I might I start giving a crap.
