Imagine if he did holdout, Woody would have had to make him the CEO of Johnson and Johnson to sign him after tonight

I was readling Alot in this thread how We'd be Fine w/o Mevis and that Cro and Wilson would do better than him

Glad to see Calvin Pace back in the starting lineup.

    Oh. Wait.

Anyway, as for Revis, he had tightness. Calling it an "injury" is a rather large stretch meant only for sensationalism.

I think at least some people actually don't realize there's a difference.

2 weeks into camp last year Revis pulled his right hamstring.

2 weeks after his first practice he felt tightness in his left hamstring.

    see what they did there?

    sorry, Dr.English...

    Hamstring 'issue' suit you better.

Bottom line is...after a 36 day holdout, he's missing practice due to hamstring 'issues'

    This was a predictable event.

And...I might add...that it's not nearly as large a stretch as calling out those that knew this was a probability as wishing an injury on him.

    WSW...

    the point is...

Bottom line is...after a 36 day holdout, he's missing practice due to hamstring 'issues'

So..lets recap...a player with three years on his contract holds out.

Comes back in time for week one...Team loses.

Week 2, facing the best opponent they play this year, and a divisional opponent and
he's missing practice due to hamstring 'issues' (and it's already a short week..)

My main point being and the article reiterates what the MCG crowd strenuously denied..

    this was predictable.

Which is precisely why my favorable/unfavorable date, was after the second preseason game.

Revis has one job on sunday and that is to cover Moss where ever he goes. With all respect to the Jets show team offense I don't think Revis really needs the work against them to accomplish that task.

    3 things...

1.Not being physically able to practice, exacerbates missing all of camp.

    2. Football is still 11 on 11..Is Drew Coleman taking his place, or are we shifting everyone up a spot for two out of three days? In either case, we aren't practicing what we're playing.

    3. Tightness...leads to other places...see Reyes above...as gifted and talented an athlete as Revis..

The only point you missed was that the Jets lost in week one because Ryan didn't think asshole was in good enough shape to let him play Boldin the entire game. So, he has cost us one win so far..let's see if he makes it two now. Maybe we would be better off if he was still holding out.

Did you just show me an article about Jose Reyes, an injury prone baseball player, to support a point about Revis?

    1. He was "limited" in practice and that is all I know. You are making some big jumps in logic to support your claim that the holdout is somehow having an affect on the team still.

    2. It doesn't matter who they put in Revis' spot during a walkthough during the week because Revis' job has no affect on the rest of the defense. The other ten guys have to be ready to look for all sorts of different things while Revis just needs to find moss and cover him where ever he goes. How much help is going against a scout team WR gonna be when he gets on the field Sunday?

    3. If Revis had any history of missing anything significant with an injury you might be able to stumble onto a point here eventually.

We should change this thread title to "Revis temporarily suspends his hold out"...

The hamstring issue was completely predictable. Gotta side with Hobbes on that. He should be in pretty good shape though so if he's taking care of it this week he should be ok. (knocking on lots of wood)

    Don's point is well made.

Now....Maybe..just maybe...if the CS had not been forced to limit his participation in the game, Baltimore is not able to use their best offensive player to convert key third downs......?

So...Revis holdout has no effect on the team yet their best wideout is being covered by a rookie, and a safety at key moments in the game?

But....He'll be fine against Randy Moss?

I think everyone now realizes that the lengthy holdout did in fact effect the team. Throwing it in there faces like this is pretty shitty though. It's almost like people are happy their negative predictions were correct. What do you want them to say??

    Move along.
