I don't know. I guess I trust the Jets more coming back from a shitty start and shocking the world by making the playoffs. If we started 8-0, I would be terrified that the wheels would fall off the second half of the year and we'd choke by either missing the playoffs or losing in 1st round. Anyone remember the 10-1 start in '86??
I have been reading this message board almost every day for three years now, and this post pissed me off so much that I had to register. Let's have the same attitude that our coach STILL has! In Rex we Trust!
If we start 0-3 we'll know beyond any doubt that it's really hard to develop a young QB and go for the Super Bowl in the same season. On the bright side, none of the other QB options on the bench look particularly good so we won't make the horrible mistake of benching Sanchez at that point.
jil, I know that you know your football, and I'm curious if you saw the same things wrong that I saw. I saw a team lacking focus, discipline, and confidence on offense. Greene looked like a deer in headlights. Sanchez looked like, well, shit. The defense played very well, and then made critical errors in key situations. It just seems that something is really wrong. There is a critical piece missing from the super bowl puzzle, and that piece is discipline. Without it, this will deteriorate into a fucking disaster.
Well, yeah, I guess. The Jets are without their best wide receiver and arguably their best pass rusher. The team should only get better as the season progresses. Sincerely, Cak
LOL, jon. That was indeed a bit of a letdown. After reading that first sentence there from gan, I was expecting more.
If we go 0-3, we have problems. Then again, if we only allow 10 points and we can't win, we have problems. I say, we already have problems.
We beat the Pats. Favre beats the Phins. Everyone is 1-1. Expect maybe the Bills. I was rooting for them on Sunday.
The media is having a field day but the Jets lost by one point in a game they should have and easily could have won if our sophomore coach didn't choke and not go for it on 4th and 1 deep in Baltimore's territory. This will be a totally different game this week but if anybody is seriously worried about Miami (who almost lost to Buffalo) then instead of starting threads you should be hiding under your bed.
