    This too, is wrong.

You guys went up against the Ravens defense. There is no better run defense, with all due respect to The jets D.

The Ravens have led the league in lowest average yards per rush, for 10 straight years, IIRC.

The Ravens have been in the top 5 for most of that time. Sanchez is one freakin game into his 2nd season, it sucks that it was the Ravens Defense he had to go against.

A second year QB and OC cannot out think Ray Lewis and if you think they can, you are deluding yourself.

Bart Scott is a great LB. But Ray Lewis is arguably the best to ever play the game.

I would wait for a few more games to see what Sanchez can do. Christ, 10-6 will get a wild card, so what is the problem?

Playing us and then the Pats is the best test that the Jets could have.

    Are the Jets for real?

As long as they don't implode off the field over the next 2 or three weeks, these games can be won.

    Smash the Pats!!

10 points is 10 points no matter how you swing it.

The defense/special teams setup the offense with an opportunity for 4 makable FG's while allowing 10 points. Not only did the offense not contribute anything to the Jets chances of winning, but they blew one of the FG opportunities handed to them.

If the offense never took the field we had a better shot at winning. It was a historically bad offensive performance - no defense should be expected to overcome that.

I said offense. With the Ravens secondary supposedly dinged up..Why didn't Sanchez throw it down the field?!?!?!?

I'm pretty sure the Vikings were on top for at least a couple of years there.

Still, the Ravens run D is consistently Top 3, as you said. For the record, though, 5.5 YPC tells me that our run offense wasn't the problem.

Here is a list of those people on the field Monday who didn't contribute to that loss:

    Tomlinson
    Mangold
    Ellis
    Thomas
    Pouha
    Wetherford
    Folk
    Revis
    Westhoff
    Brunell
    Clemens

If someone's name doesn't appear on that list, they contributed at least a little bit to the loss.

ON a related note I thought Steve Weatherford did an amazing job, one of the best games I have ever seen for a Jets punter(a position that usually is bad for us). I guess those shake weights are paying off.

Hahaha, yeah it had to be the Shake Weights.

Seriously though, he had a fantastic game. He's really kicking the ball well.

Jason Taylor played really well. Jim Leonhard did a nice job returning punts

How can you not have Cromartie on that list? Sure enough he gave up 14 first downs, 6 PIs, and 4 holdings, he still deserves credit for keeping Boldin under 150 yards.

No, its not. Its the truth

Rex (Hard Knocks) said that every team we face should line up their best guys and we line up our best guys and we beat the fuck out of 'em. We didn't do that enough. I know we have the best rushing offense in the NFL; where your defense ranks is irrelevant, according to our philosophy from Rex. We got away from that, but its only temporary I hope.

    See last point.

I may be in the minority, but given what he had to work with, I think Sanchez did a good job. Not one pass could be looked at as being ill-advised or just dumb. Get back to our bread and butter, the power running game, and there should be a chance for the misdirection at the line and deeper receivers to become a part of the game.

I'll leave it to the stats guys to come up with Ravens losses vs 2nd year QBs. Its not like its never happened. I'll skip the rest, done arguing.

    Heh!

If a man is open down the field and the Qb checks down to a receiver for a short gain, that to me qualifies as ill advised. Dumb? Maybe more scared than dumb.

If we can't ban the 4 people who voted for defense, can we at least ban the 3 people who voted for special teams, considering that we had amazing punt/kickoff coverage all night long (which constantly provided our offense with amazing field position), had a few nice punt returns, AND made all three field goals we attempted??

I vote for Rex, which isn't a choice but should be.

He left Revis on the left side come hell or highwater. No adjustment, just watched Wilson get burned.

He stressed no turnovers so much that Mark looked like a little kid out there scared of getting the belt.

You can't spend a whole offseason telling everyone who will listen that our best will beat their best and then reign in "our best" because you're scared of "their best".
